im always up for options !!!! send me a pm if you would like .....
For a time, I used a Roland Vbass with the GK pickup on my NS5. I used double sided foam tape, in several layers, to attach to the body. I then mounted the controller to my strap using velcro. Worked pretty well.I have a GK2b on my Peavey Grind 6 string and use it with a Roland V-bass and occasionally with a GI-20 midi interface. Works great with the V-bass and sort-of ok with the midi interface as can be expected.
Now with the new Spector Euro 6 I would like to be able to use the V-bass - but I will not screw anything into the body of the instrument. I have thought about making a special brass bracket to mount to the front of the bridge and attach the GK to it. The GK control can be velcro attached behind the bridge (not thrilled with that idea but it ain't getting screwed on!) I was even thinking of something that could slip over the top of the bridge that held the controller and pickup - and could easily be removed when not needed.
Do any members have GK pickups installed on their basses and if so, how are you doing it? I thought I saw (somewhere) that you could get US Spectors with piezo pickups which makes me wonder if these are Ghost pickups which happen to have a midi driver board available for them.
