I think.....you should probably call him PJ, for starts :)

I dunno man .....my opinion is, better have something to offer them ie, a large amount of exposure. I'm glad to tell anyone that spector kicks ass, and glad to pay for them at the same time.

This thing just KILLS.....USA NS-4. Loving the humbuckers, it gives a bite and high end that I've not gotten elsewhere with spector.

That looks beautiful! That was the finish I was originally going to go for, but I couldn't it anywhere for as decent a price as mine. Congrats!

By the way, does anyone know what strings are on the Rebop models straight out of the factory?

It can't hurt to ask. Although, looking at the artists page on the Spector website, I don't know if "a large amount of exposure" is all that they're looking for.

I also endorse everything I use, otherwise, I wouldn't use them- But getting Spectors at cost would be very cool.

IIRC, you have to submit a promotional package to PJ along with your touring schedule and possibly a recording. Even if you do get one, it'll be an artist endorsement in which you'll get a discount on your instruments. Email PJ for the specifics.

Hi, I have been a member here at talkbass for quite some time, I don't think I've ever posted anything, but a few days ago I got my new bass, a Spector Euro 5 LX that I am in love with, and I just thought I'd share the news with you guys :)

The only thing about this bass that I do not love is the bridge. Isn't it a bit difficult to set up the damn intonation, what with the saddles being completely detached from the bridge? Actually it's the saddles themselves that annoy me, not the bridge. The two screws in the saddles have that weird positioning and if you try setting the bass up as the "Spector Owner's Manual" recommends (saddles being tilted in an angle opposite of the way the strings tilt at the headstock) they seem to lean to the right (looking at them from the headstock). What do you guys think about the bridges in Spector Euro basses?


I apologize for my convoluted English, I am from Romania and don't get to speak English a lot, so my writing suffers :)

had my first chance to really play through my "new" rebop. i have a few questions.

first, i'm thinking one (or both) of my volume pots need to be replaced. when i would turn it all the way down i could still hear myself pretty well through the amp. i'm guessing it shouldn't do that.

second, when i would turn up the bridge pup all the way there was a buzz. not a loud one, but enough to keep me from going past 3/4 volume on that pup. is this related to the pots, or is something wrong with my bridge pup?

third, i'm guessing this is a setup issue... my b & e strings were considerably louder/fuller than the a-g strings. are any of your basses like this?

fourth, the bass pot in my preamp didn't seem to do much until it was all the way up. there was no gradual bass increase. it was pretty much all or nothing. is that indicative of the tonepump preamp or is this another possible pot issue?

fifth, dang - 35 inch scale takes a little getting used to. for the last 15 years i've been playing a 34 inch 5er and knew it like the back of my hand. i wasn't always in the right place with this one. and my hand was getting a little tired. it's going to take a little work to get used to it. but despite my problems, i enjoyed playing it. i can't wait to take it in for a proper setup.

thanks for all the help you guys have been so far. i really appreciate it.

Serban- That is one of the finest Euro LX Spalted tops I have seen! Very nice.
Dean- #1- When I had my Euro there was still some sound with the volume all the way off. Not loud but audible.
#2,3,4- I am sure someone will chime in soon on these.
#5- I have not had issues with going 34" to 35" but some have. I think it just comes down to getting familiar. Good luck!

When I first got my Spector, I thought it was amazing, and it's 35" scale. I actually like 35 more than 34. Also, I've never played a tighter B in my life. Also, I find that the volume of my E and B strings is higher, but I definately think it's primarily a setup and EQ issue.
