I mainly a four string player, but i have been thinking of getting a five lately. I started on a five string, but went to a four and haven't looked back since. I started on a five because i only wanted to play stuff like 311 and Primus and RHCP back then. Decisions, decisions.... :D

There was some strange distortion and clipping. It worked fine with passives. But hook up the actives (and you have to wire power for the active pups around the board since it's not designed to power active pups) and it got really ugly sounding.

The TP actually works really, really well in my NS-2A... being it's a fretless. I get some great gritty tone out of that bass... it's a fretless with growl. I love the combo.

So far I haven't been able to go one year without buying another Spector.

Water-Cured Redwood. Not walnut. And you'll have to find a used one. The 100 year-old log that was pretty much one-of-a-kind has been used up. My NS-4 was officially the last WCR Spector. Unless another 100 year-old log that's been submerged in cold fresh water for that 100 years shows up... I'm afraid they're gone.[/QUOTE]

Im so very glad that I'm able to play one my Spectors on a daily bases! :D a bad day can turn into the best day after playing. :D :hyper:

I just purchased my first Spector from the classifieds here and haven't been able to put the thing down since I picked it up the other night. It is a Euro 5LX and I am totally in love with this thing. I only have crappy cell phone pics at the moment but plan on taking more.

I forgot the guy I bought the bass from had a bunch of pictures he sent me so rather than try and take more, I will just show his since they are probably better than what I can do :)

I just purchased the Euro 4 from the same seller. I also cant put it down. It is my 3rd Spector. Here is a pic before they were adopted by us.

Congrats. I've only had my Euro 5lx a few weeks and it's awesome. Bess bass I've ever had.

I wanted to share some of my excitement and compare and comment on my 3 Spectors.
I needed to let it out to someone since my wife is sick of me rattling on about this for the past 24 hours.

I also figured this will help others since I had a million questions before I ended up buying them.

Comparing (Pics were posted yesterday)
Black Matte Euro 4LX NB9113 w/ Tone Pump
Blue Euro 4 NB0091 w/Aguilar OBP-1
White NS-2A NS8106 w/ EMG P/J & EMG BTS EQ circuit running at 18 volts

Black Matte Euro 4LX The matte finish makes the neck incredibly fast. The action on this bass is the lowest I have ever had on any bass I owned. Using DR Steel Lo Riders 45-105. Harmonics and slap response is amazing. Note sustain is great. The Tone Pump allows for a variety amount of adjustments. I have adjusted to the output to about 70%. (Thanks Patrick for the video tutorial on that.)

Blue Euro 4 (early 2000’s)Deeper more solid sound then the Euro 4LX. The neck feels a bit beefier and rounder but feels more narrow near the nut when compared to the Euro 4LX. Using Blue Steels 45-105. Great slap response. It does feel and sound similar to what I remember a 1991 USA NS2 was like that I tried it at NJ Guitar Center last week.

White NS-2A (w/upgraded EMGs)This is built solid as a tank, I was especially surprised since it is a Korean import.
The neck is actually right in-between the Euro 4 & Euro 4LX. Fairly round but still wide at the top.
I have Rotosound Steels on this 45-105. I have this tuned down ½ step Eb-Ab-Db-Gb
I use this one for playing along with those rock songs that are tuned down ½ step.
Has a really great deep rock sound.
The nut on this may need some adjustment. The action seems to come off the neck a bit too high.

My 07 Warwick German Corvette sounds very thin now. I am coming close to trying to trade it or sell it for a ReBop.

Haha, it's like the family photo before they went to new homes.

I just love the feel of the neck of this bass. Funny how you mention that you are thinking about selling your Warwick Corvette. I actually started thinking the same thing yesterday since really love the feel of these things.

Is that Alex's signature bass he is playing or is that a 5XL? That thing just sounds amazing. Someone on Youtube nailed it when they said it sounds like a chainsaw.

He's playing one of many custom Euro5LX models he owns.
He'd always special order them, with DC pups and usually an 18v EMG circuit (which ironically is what's in his signature model).
So it's going to sound like his signature bass. The main difference between the bass in the video and his new signature model is the thickness of the neck. His new sig model has the thinest (meaning front to back) neck of any SPECTOR 5-string... ever.
