i recently snagged an 80s Spector/Kramer NS 2A for an unbelievable price.
it's nothing compared to some of the stuff posted here, but i love it. killer tone. killer neck. so comfortable.

I've posted this a third time to say, I think I just jizzed in my pants. If there were ever a reason to go and rob a place, for me, this would be it, cuz I sure dont have the money to buy it.
I recently purchased a 2009 Spector Legend 4 on eBay, $300.00! It was only 6 months old and barely played. Looks like brand new! I replaced the coils with GHS flats stainless and WOW, what an awesome sound!

You're not just kidding about comfortable!!! After playing a Fender Jazz Bass my Spector Legend 4 is so comfortable...I didn't know it could be this great! It's like making love to my Bass every time I play.
Got my Legend 4 for $300.00! 6 months old. Guy didn't like the sound so he eBayed it! My Gain!

A local store here will give me a screaming deal on two brand new in box EMG 45DC's.
I'm not sure if my dissatisfaction with the tone in my Legend 6 (muffled compared to my Euro with EMG's w/ Aggie OBP-1) is the fault of the EMG-SSD (their bottom of the barrel pup) or the Tone Pump Jr. pre (their bottom of the barrel pre) or a combination of both.
If I get the DC's, I want to try them with the Tone Pump Jr. first. My question to anyone who knows:
Do the EMG-SSD's use the same quick connect other EMG's do and , if so, since the EMG SSD's are passive will I have any issues feeding the DC's juice with the Tone Pump Jr. pre?
In other words, will I be able to just unconnect the SSD's, connect the DC's and be good to go?

BTW, did the 18volt upgrade to my OBP-1 in the Euro. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone that has one of the original "Spector" OBP-1's in a Spector bass. It really thickened it up and made it more present all around. It was a tight squeeze, but I was able to do it (mount two batteries) with no additional routing of the cavity.

When I swapped in my East pre for the Tone Pump in my Euro (with active EMGs obviously) I used just one battery (it's all I had room for anyways) which feeds both the pre and pups.
You can run everything in 18 volts which will give you more headroom, but I find my bass is perfectly loud as it is.
So i THINK you'll be fine.. as long as the pickups are wired to a battery... But I know you're perfectly aware of all of this anyways hahaha

Uh Oh, the pots are 500's. I had to replace one (busted shaft). However, the EMG 45DC's both come with pots and a battery clip. I hate the idea of switching all that out while still using the Tone Pump Jr., only to find out it's incompatible with the DC's somehow.You might check the values of the pots.
