Yes, this is Todd. I do remember the black NS-2. Came from Andrew in Canada, correct?

I will let you know if I run across any cool NS-4's. They pop up every now and then.

I had the luck to work with and do photo shoots for two professional models last week. One is an up-and-coming model and the other is actually regarded as a Super-Model.

I was doing their shoots for their promotional materials. Things that help them get work in either the fashion or film industry.

PJ and Stuart sent me the prototype ARC6-B last week to do photos of and to put into the hands of some of the pro-guitarists I know here in L.A.

It was a Reeses Cup Moment... two great things that go great together... beautiful women and Spectors... you know I had to do it.

Enjoy... and yeah. It sucks to be me.

That looks like a Korean NS-94 (or it could be the Korean NS-20004). The horns are the giveaway on that one. My bet is that it's an NS-94.

Ned did some "redesign" of the original NS body and the two models mentioned above were the result. Curved body, Neck-thru and quality along the lines of the NS-2A... But the horns were shaved down and made pointer.

The original list price for both the NS-94 and the NS-20004 was $995.00. They had production runs between 1995-1998 (NS-94) and 1997-1998 (NS-20004).

I would think that $600 might be OK if it's in perfect-mint condition... but probably it should fall into the $400-$500 range or even a little less than the traditional NS-bodied NS-2A.

To me the NS-2A is more desirable because it's the traditional NS-body design. I don't really care for the skinny, pointy horns on the NS-94 and 2000 models. And the model in the photo doesn't have the traditional Spector or SSD headstock.

NS-2A's have been going for between $400-$600 of late. So I'd offer them less... I'd offer them $300 for it... For what that's worth.

DISCLAIMER: This is just an opinion. I AM NOT any more qualified than anyone else to determine the value of any used guitar. This is purely a subjective thing and I could be wrong.

I got an interesting question for you guys. There's a spector bass at my church that's pretty nice, I want to find out what the specs are on it.

It's Korean made, has EMG HZ pickups, 4 strings, I think a pau ferro or ebony fingerboard (it's black).

I actually have the serial number: 0028195

But there's no info on the bass about what model it is.

Dude! You know you're my buddy... hooking me up with all of those killer photos for the new site last week.

Yeah. It's tough working in Hollywood sometimes... You go to work, meet beautiful women... it's rough you know...

Seriously... I think I'm developing a strange Spector/beautiful women fetish. If I'm going to a shoot with a pretty actress or model, I just automatically pack the guitars.

I need help. :-)

You know the shame of it is that I was the "official" photographer at a huge music festival today for "Big River", a seriously tight group of Johnny Cash tribute players who've been somewhat adopted by one of Johnny's daughters. She says no-one does her dad's music more justice than these guys.

The bassist, Eric Monteith, is a friend of mine. Great guys. Anyway, I was at an all-day concert... two dozen bands, thousands of fans. And I'm on stage in my Spector T-shirt taking photos...

And not one band had a bassist with a Spector. Not one.

It was so sad to me... all the Fenders and Gibsons (ironically, that was the full range all day)... Not one Spector. I did, however, have several people ask me about the shirt and who knows... perhaps I was able to get a good plug in for Stuart and PJ.

OK... I know this is TALKBASS and not TALKGUITAR... but we're talking SPECTOR® here. So please be patient as I'm going to bend the rules some. I love both bass and guitar... so guitar news from my fav bass maker... that counts right?

I've played Strats for years. Never been a Les Paul fan, mainly because it's like hanging an avil with sharpe edges around your neck (the rediculous weight and uncomfortable body edges is why I pass on it).

I've played a PRS... nice... but it's really not that much nicer or different than a USA Strat.

So this past week I've had ARC6-B #1 to play with. And Stuart and the fellas in the Woodstock shop have done it again.

It's a modified NS-Body... guitar size with more of a tapered body than rounded. But it's still curved.

Bolt-on neck... that's the big deal. And the rest is classic USA ARC6.

I've reached past my Fender custom-shop Strat every time I reach for a guitar this week and I grab the ARC6.

Just like the NS-Bass. It's a joy to play, versitile and powerful, a great range of tones and the neck is to die for. The action is perfect. The neck is very comfortable and then there's that comfortable, wonderful feeling that comes with snuggling a NS-body next to your own.

With all the growl of a Les Paul... I'd say this guitar is easily more PRS and Les Paul than anything Fender... and way lighter...

Get the word out guys... this is a really nice guitar. And it's affordable. Less than a Les Paul Standard or Fender Custom Shop Strat.

Here go some photos. And yes. I shot them against a green screen. That way I can drop any background that PJ chooses later.

And so I don't get in any trouble... there are some photos here of my Spector basses having a visit with the new Spector guitar.

Yeah... now you know how I feel.

I don't get to keep this one. It has to go back to Stuart.

And I've got the hots for it so bad. It's SUCH a nice guitar.

So now I have to start saving up for one.

Anyone want to buy a really nice Strat? LOL.

Hi Spector people,

I have been searching for a bass and I didn't even think about Spector, when I found the NS-2JA-R. It really got my attention, it seems a good price. But I couldn't find any good reviews, sound clips or videos of it. Can anyone provide me some feedback? Pros and cons, what is it good for, etc.

A friend had an ARC6 (or similar model I didn't keep track but it looks similar) Spector guitar a few years back, it was really nice to play, comfortable as hell, but I'm more of a single-coil guy for guitar so I wasn't all that excited by the sound. Felt like butter though :D
