Shall I say SWEEEEEEEEEEET!!!! My Spector Rebop Euro 5r arrived this evening! I was soooo entranced by the melodious notes coming from her and playing our song set for Sunday in a whole new way that my wife had to tell me to knock it off! It was almost 10pm. 
I can truely say that I'm a believer and a new 5r convert.

Hi everyone... the site is almost done!!! So before long you guys will have a view into the largest collection of never-before-seen information about our favorite luthier and the company he's built so he can make us the bestest, most awesomest guitars in the world.
There will be many things that have been sort of iffy... like when did the Euro line really start? etc... these questions and many many more cool things will be handled. This website will have the "official" Spector history as determined by the man himself.
You guys have a great weekend and awesome 4th of July. As soon as I've been given the "LAUNCH IT" order from PJ and Stuart... I'll notify you guys.
I expect members like Phat to go through it with a fine tooth comb. And hopefully it will pass even his very detail-minded scruitiny.
Lastly, I still have the ARC6-B Prototype. I'm still getting pro guitarists to take it for a test drive. So far I've had some serious pros, with recording contracts, hit records... pro-guitar techs for big-big name players, luthiers with as much experience on the guitar end of things as Stuart has with basses... and the overwhelming result is the ARC6-B is everything you'd expect a USA-made Stuart Spector built instrument to be.
You guys have no idea how honored I am to have had the opportunity to get to know this company. They are that rare diamond. I can say this. Profit, money, the stuff that drives everyone else in the industry, that's not what motivates Stuart and PJ. They really want to make the best instruments in the world... for US! For US to play. These are amazing people to work with.
Anyway. Take the following link to watch a professional (signed, recorded and toured) heavy-metal lead guitarist just "play" and shred on that ARC6-B. I feel like a small, idiotic school child around this guy. And he's almost young enough (but not quite) to be my own son.
His name is Cameron Gorman. And man he makes it look easy. OH... and he left playing the ARC6 by giving me the specs (finish options, etc...) of the one he's going to order from PJ and Stuart.
It sells itself. You'll see.

I am, by no means, a Spector expert. I'm sure there are a few on TB much more in the know than myself. I've just gleened much info, over the years, from various people and places, including Stuart and PJ (and been through many Spectors first hand).
I've just learned to weed through the dissinformation, missinformation and speculation to combine sources and actual physical evidence to figure out what the truth either has to be or most probably is.
It still baffles me that so many aspects of Spector history are so vague to Stuart and PJ themselves. I mean, weren't production records kept?!
I am, by no means, a Spector expert. I'm sure there are a few on TB much more in the know than myself. I've just gleened much info, over the years, from various people and places, including Stuart and PJ (and been through many Spectors first hand).

Absolutely for the domestic models.
But there's been gaps when dealing with the overseas vendors.
Sometimes changes are made, and there's a perfectly good reason for it... but it's either lost in translation or not relayed.
I think the whole TonePump eye-opener this week was a translation thing. PJ and Stuart relayed what they had been told. And he's a vendor, hired to deliver a product that meets Stuart's specs.
Trust me. This site is going to blow you away. The whole reason we can do what we are doing is because of the help from people like Todd Cooke, who was awesome and helped fill in the blanks on some model info.
And remember back in the day... Stuart was building so many prototypes... heck, in Brooklyn pretty much every bass made, even in the model lines like the SB-1... they where all different slightly. Sometimes he couldn't get one type of pickup, so he'd use another. He experimented with woods, finishes, etc...
Really before Stuart, no one really did custom bass guitars... he and Vinny Fodera (his first full-time employee) and Ned, who had no background in music or instruments... they had to figure it out as they went.
This website should clear up a lot of the gray areas as far as the models and history. But some of the technical stuff may never be completely figured out.
But we've taken a serious stab at it. And again, it's been players who've help get all of this info together.

The history of Spector bit will be really interesting to check out. B/c I play them, I always get questions as to what happened when, as if each of us know the entire company history the instant we pick up a Spectorz!!
