Spector truss rod

Hello....I have a Spector bass it's not the high end ones but I like it just the same....my question is I opened the truss cover today to lower the strings and when I did I noticed I couldn't get the Allen wrench in to turn the rod....is it maxed out or do I have a bigger problem. ...thanks

The truss should not move up or down in the slot. You just need a longer truss tool.

It's not too far in its too far out...it's all most flush with the top of the hole....it's only showing me maybe a 1/3 of the top of the rod...it's like it's too far out

So you can adjust the truss? Just that the access is right at the top? Shouldn't be a big deal. Does it adjust when you turn it? If so, I wouldn't worry about it.
