Spiderman 2.

someone hasn't been watching enough robot movies. Everyone knows that advanced artificial intelligence is evil by default....DUH

Well, the movie doesn't really call them evil. It's was too subtle, but when they are talking to Ock, he says "You're right, the real crime would be not finishing what I started." Then he hits crime and gets balled up with Spidey. So, while not strictly evil, the arms are, well, realllly aggressive and amoral. Well, they would be amoral, I suppose, being computers and all.

Whoa. So, I was thinking that Harry would become the Hobgoblin... but I guess it'll be more of a Green Goblin 2.

Would someone tell me (in detail) the differences between the Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, and Demogoblin?

It's funky... Okay:

Green Goblin 1 - Norman Osborn killed himself fighting spiderman

Green Goblin 2 - Harry Osborn try to get even falls prey to drugs and insanity, gets put under the care of shrink Dr. Bart Hamilton,

Green Goblin 3- Hamilton learns of the Goblin bit from a hypnotized Harry, and does his own crimings. He ends up killing himself by accident.

Green Goblin(s) 4 and 5 were homonculuses that Norman and a Dr. made to for some reason (possibly to take over Oscorp), that eventually went a little bonkers, and died when the formula that made it alive killed it.

Hobgoblin 1 - (I got mixed up here, I called Demogoblin Hobgobline). Anyway, duder finds one of the original Green Goblin's lairs, and takes up his own Goblin legacy.

Hobgoblin 2 - The original Hob steps down for some reason (can't remember) so this new dude takes his guise and does his thing.

Demogoblin - Hobby 2 wanted power so bad, he made a deal with a devil, and the devil possessed him instead of just giving him powers. They fought internally, and eventually, Demogoblin split from Hobby 2 to become his own being (Hobby 2 still existing).

Funky enought for you?

Edit - I believe this is all in the Amazing Spider-man continuity. There's also the series Spectacular Spider-man, Spiderman, and now Ultimate Spider-man.

And you think this is mildly confusing, don't even get into the Pre/Post Crisis thing. Criminy.

I should add I was almost in stitches during the "raindrops keep falling on my head" scene, especially when the screen freezes. So intentionally cheesy, so hilarious. :D

hahaha.. same here.

great movie. not 100 times better than the first... 100000 times better than the first! i almost cried at the end when she was looking up at him after she got down fom the web, but then everything turned out alright. thank god. i couldnt take anymore of the peter/mj stuff.

i definitely want to see venom and carnage (big bro is a spidey fan, which is how i know this stuff).. mysterio is a nifty guy too.. and they'll probably throw in black cat to spice it up a little. mehh.. personally, i dont like her but oh well.

I don't think batman has been done right in ANY of the movies. Although Tim Burton got darkness of the best comics down fairly well, it's still a poor adaptation. My main complaints with batman movies:

1) Bruce Wayne has no depth. Most of the books didn't offer much depth either, but there were certain issues that really brought the character to life (Dark Knight returns being the one I recommend to everyone). The thing that Spiderman does that Batman failed at was actually making you give a crap about Batman. Although Michael Keaton's rendition had the most chracter he still basically had very little characterization.

2) Villians in the movies were never used correctly, and besides the villians in Tim Burtons, they were much too lighthearted and comical. Also, killing off every villian pretty much destroys the whole point of the comic. Batman's life is a constant repeat as he captures and recaptures the same crazy bastards. It's what makes it so dark and evil because Batman has to go on knowing that whatever he does he'll be back at it again tommorow without any real comforts.

3) The Joker deserves a whole new point by himself. Although I loved how Jack Nicholson did him, they basically destroyed the character. The Joker was originally a normal guy down on his luck that was inadvertantly turned into the Joker by Batman. In the movie they make him a hardknock criminal that KILLED BATMAN'S PARENTS. What? NO! The whole point is that Batman's parents were killed by nameless thugs. He can't be given a personal vendetta! That's not how batman works. Batman doesn't have a personal interest in any of the villians he fights which makes them so great! As for killing the Joker, that is the worst of all. Joker and batman are nemesis. Joker and Batman never defeat each other for long. Killing the Joker would be like killing Robin (and for reference, the Robin that died in the comics was actually the second Robin, not Dick Grayson, and he died because of a reader poll...)

If anyone wants to see how Batman should be done, just watch the animated series.

Frank Miller got calls about that, former writers telling him he'd ruined Batman. Personally, I think he's the only one that did it right.

Well, that's according to the Killing Joke, and Alan Moore. His story has changed a few times. Alan Moore gave him that origin, but it's not "The" Joker origin.
