I'm not really a binding/inlay guy, but that looks killer.
First impression very purdy. Fit and finish is stellar on this one. I love the color and it feels great! 1st fret is sharp the rest seem perfectly fine, the blocks are square and true, binding looks good, neck feels really nice! 8.2lbs

Might look dope with a pearloid Jazz guard
Based on how a pearloid guard looks on the Adam Clayton signature jazz bass, I'm willing to bet it would work extremely well here because of the block inlays.
Have a feeling we're about to see a ton of late 60s jazz pics over the next week or so

TB is dangerous that way. Just love the one you're with and play the frets down to the bone! It was during this sale that I reminded myself I preferred, and bought, a 70s CV; I just prefer that pickup spacing more, and I love that bass. Who even needs 60s spacing? (another thing I told myself. Lol)

I had even for a moment started thinking crazy things like, "ok, if I sell my CV 50s P super fast at a good price I could afford one..." Then I realized that's nuts, I love that bass.
I'll just try to save up and have a little bass fund available next year around Labor Day in hopes of another sale!!!
My guess is there may well be another similar sale around Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. I went back and forth on pulling the trigger on another bass but 1) couldn't decide on the 60's P in white or the brown burst 50's and 2) I REALLY don't need another one...
, and 3) running outta storage space, and 4)... 
For those of you that missed the sale, I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure there will be at least a couple in the classifieds soon enough, however you probably won't get it discounted lower than what we paid for them during the sale. I bought it specifically because of the incredible price. But if I don't love it or I feel like it needs a lot of work, then the price, no matter how low, will no longer be appealing.
With my partyband I don't want to use my 65P because we do small gigs with people coming on stage etc. so I was looking for a nice CV late 50's bass to use instead.
The first owner is a celeb bassplayer here in Holland and he had added a Jazz pickup that makes it even more versatile. I do use it in this band often.
The nut is changed to a bone nut because I ruined it trying to file the stock nut.
The pots were replaced for CTS, the knobs (2 of them I'm looking for a third to buy) are nickle ones now. And the pickguard is changed for a tort which I like even better.
I just love this bass! Sounds great and plays smooth after I sanded down the neck.
