Just an FYI, but someone (who is not me) is selling a Transparent Black Fender Modern Player Jazz body in the classifieds. I'm mentioning it here 'cuz they were made in the same factories as the first-generation Classic Vibes.

My wife signed our son up for voice lessons and this past Wednesday was his first one. They're at a local music shop I have known about for a long time but knew them to be pretty much the place where all the kids rent their wind and string instruments from for school band, as well as lessons. I had been in there years ago and they had a few guitars and basses on the wall, Fenders, Squiers, and Yamahas mostly.
I bring Moses in for his voice lesson and what is hanging on the wall? This Inca Silver CIC Classic Vibe Jazz. Plastic still on the pickguard and control plate. $329.99. I ask the kid working there if it's been on the wall a long time and he's like, "yeah it's been there quite a while, I think people just aren't really into the color." I take it down to check it out and it desperately needs a set up, but it is brand new. The bridge has the corrosion these bridges seem inclined to and the fretboard is super thirsty, but here it is!! I have had two of these in the past, one being the James Johnston sig, and I regret moving on from them. Hopefully I've learned my lesson and this one will be around for the long haul!

Not really! But I wasn’t really listening for that when I was setting it up / messing around earlier. If there IS an output difference it’s gotta be extremely subtle.Due to 7.25 radius fretboard against flushed magnet pole piece pickups, do you find the A and D string output weaker than E and G ?
Yes, I know they had the same bridge as the first-generation CV's. I flirted with buying one of the Sunburst models when they hit the market. Seeing it up close, there were a few touches that hinted at their common point of origin...the bridge, the neck with the same vintage tinting/no skunk stripe and the "Crafted In China" decal were all clues.Yes, you are right. But that body you share has non original bridge.
)What a lucky coincidence! That bass is a beauty, I could not have left without it…

And I like them both, I am not usually a fan of white pickguards but I do think I prefer the white on that particular Jazz…(Inca) Silver and gold! What do y'all think?

Looks good but I think I prefer the white. Where'd you get the gold?(Inca) Silver and gold! What do y'all think?
I think I'm gonna try and find some hotter pickups for it. Otherwise I'm loving it!

Amazon. They must be new. I think the brand was Dopro or something. Was pretty cheap and a good fit.Looks good but I think I prefer the white. Where'd you get the gold?
Very inexpensive pickguards, I just grabbed a brown tort Kaish PG to see it on my CV 70’s Walnut P. It was the EXACT same guard as the Dopro even down to the add picture from Amazon.
Between the Brass barrels and the Gold Squier logo it works great on your bass.
Just think the white works with the dots.
Good to know, thanks for that info. I am pretty sure the Fleor brand (through Musiclily) also fit my late 60’s CV Jazz…Pickguards from China (Aliexpress)?
Bought two Fleor; fits perfect on Affinity series.

Is it unconventional to post about work in progress FrankenSquiers? Just got a good deal on a white CV 60s P body- gonna put my 70s CV J neck on it and see how it feels (might put my Vintera Precision neck on it though!)

Hardware & electronics will consist of a fully loaded Nate Mendel Signature P pickguard & a brand new black Hipshot Kickass bridge.

I may swap the stock roadworn Mendel SPB-3s out with a new set of Nordstrand P Blade pickups- decisions decisions lol
Will post pics once I get it all put together, just waiting for parts to arrive![]()
Well I think it’s @EagleMoon ‘s thread, haven’t seen a post from EagleMoon (unless I missed it) since 2022 but I for one would definitely like to see that FrankenSquier CV as it comes together…Is it unconventional to post about work in progress FrankenSquiers?…
