I can relate. I have had 2 geddys and one was this awesome refinished walnut color but I couldnt vibe with it.
my joy...the story to this is, i wanted what jamareo artis was playing but can't as too expensive. Squier cv got this one...similar. Good enough!

Not just "good enough", the CV you have is great! If it sounds great, plays great, and looks great, then it's...great.

Talking to MJ herself she said the output is even bigger than the Quarter Pounder (SCPB-3) wich is really high already.
I had one and did the copper shielding tape, made little to no difference because the pup sits so high above the shielding. I also put a basslines 1/4 pounder in it and had little to no difference either, could have simply turned up the amp a little and gotten the same effect.
The CV 50's P is pretty good stock. Better strings are the best money spent on those basses IMHO.
That one looks interesting. A couple push/pull pots to keep it stock looking. Hmmm

Just got my Fiesta Red CV 60's P-Bass last week. I'm loving it!
Always wanted a P and slapped some D'Addario XL rounds on it. Nice and bright. My other bass is an SR-700 and even though I love that too I'm really enjoying the simplicity and versatility of the CV.

I had "GAS" for a P Bass and was thinking about an MIM....it was "OK" but then i picked up the CV and it felt so good in my hands.
My brain said "No you made a mistake....pick up the MIM again....and like it!"
I tried....but i put it back down and went with the CV!

I'm new to the Squier CV club! I received a fiesta red 60s p from a TB member, and I am loving it so far. I had a question about the bridge saddle wrench size on these though, as they weren't included. A search online doesn't really seem definitive as to whether these are 1.5mm or .050". I don't want to go to the hardware store and buy both sets, and then strip the opening by poking around...would anybody be able to give any insight?

i just picked up my CV jazz yesterday, and i cant put the thing down. i know its apples and oranges, but this thing blows my ibanez prestige out of the water, and with a $1000 price difference, this may be the best buy in the bass world. i will eventually put in new electronics and maybe some hipshot tuners. but right now im pretty happy and not in a hurry to upgrade this baby. are you still handing out numbers?
i played a lot of jazz basses when i bought this one, and while there was one custom shop model that i liked more, this one held its own with all of them, and actually played and sounded better than most of them. i couldnt be happier with my purchase.
I had that same Hartke Cab when I was playing in a band a few years back. SOLID!
