Squier Classic Vibe Club (Part 3)

My Squier CV60's in action :) :) :)
Strung with GHS 3025. Put the stock pickup back in it. Very pleased for now.
Might try a SPB-1... just for the fun of it

Nice playing . Stock pickup is great. That sounds really good.

I like stock pickup with TI Flats on mine. I have a light touch and mine are a few years old so well broken in.

Im ordering GHS Precision Flats for my Stingray5 Special.

Here's my 'new' 2019 Squier CV 70's Jazz Bass with newly installed Seymour Duncan Apollo's and Babicz bridge. You can see a chip on the left side of the guitar which I plan on touching up but for $250 shipped from GC not a bad deal. It's perfect other than that and sounds great with the new pups.

Nice playing and good, authentic p bass sound. Great song too!

P.S. And thank you for drawing my attention to this great band! Hadn't heard of them yet.

Many thanks :)
I have the TI's on a VM Chris Aiken with a PV63. Great combo. Very different then the GHS and stock but both very sweet :) Let us know how you like them

Sorry, I don't have the means to do that well enough. I went by a few I found on youtube which you may have seen.

I've seen these demos and, personally, I think they sound great. I was strongly considering a set of these for one of my current Projekts. I ended up getting a great deal on two other pickup sets which I'll try out first, but if they don't give me a satisfactory sound*, I'll probably track down a set of Apollos.

*: Not likely, since they're excellent pups, but I still like to keep all my options open. ;)

They are hard to find used, and there aren't a whole lot of new 4-string sets available either. I just bided my time and picked them up one at a time and got one for $75 and eventually the other one for $60.

I totally get that! I pulled a similar rabbit out of my hat just before lockdown last year! I scored a full set of Bartolini B-Axis pickups* through BestBassGear. Both showed up at different times as significantly discounted, "open box" items. So yeah, I also lucked out in a similar fashion. :greedy:

*: Also excellent humbucking J-pups, by the way!

Looks like this is great place to post my Squier Classic Vibe ‘50s Precision.

Played it in the store last week, thought about it for a day or two. Impressed with the quality. Great neck, feel, balance, sound, finish, metal bits. Plays beautiful. I’ve been buying basses for over 50 years and this is a good bass.

I brought her home on the day they buried Dusty Hill, which made me melancholy.

Finally had a gig this year! It's been slower going here in Canadia with getting the live music back up and running. This was a small festival show a couple hours north of me. Backline was not up to the outdoor situation (SVT III pro > OG Fender Rumble 410 had truly woeful stage volume/presence once we started playing), our monitors barely worked at all, and it was hot as hell. But we played with a ton of enthusiasm and joy (ok and a little rust), and it was super well received by the crowd; my word did it feel good to do that again!

Plus it meant I could finally give my new bass its proper live debut! Played really nicely, the poly finish never got gummy/sticky, and my shoulder didn't hurt at all after we were done. Still looking forward to being able to actually hear what it sounds like at gig volume... but all in good time! The Fralins sounded pretty damn fine in rehearsal, to be fair, so I don't mind waiting a bit longer :)

So did anybody look out for the 2 new models : LATE 50S Precision Basses in White Blonde and 2-ton Sunburst?? Did anybody got one? :)

Are you referring to the CME exclusive models? If so I'm interested in them. Looks like on Pre-order with estimated ship date of 10/28. These are pretty cool. Love the look of both. As far as I know they will be the only CV's with ash veneer top/back.

Here is a quick look at my 2020 Squier Classic Vibe 60s Precision bass. I added the chrome pickup and bridge covers from Fender, a finger rest, and I put a Fender Pure Vintage 63 p bass pickup in. It’s my James Jamerson budget bass, out the door for under $600. The bass plays great stock I just got bored during the lockdown after losing my job. I really wanted the 2010 Chinese made fiesta red/tort but could not find one. I
also added a picture of my newest pickup, a Fender Vintera 50s(late 50s) precision in seafoam green. Loving the chunky maple neck.
