Yeah, I've often thought it might help if they put a mint guard on the fiesta red and the tort guard on the sonic blue. But it wouldn't help much.

Its funny but ive been racking my brains to think of a better PG colour and all i could come up with was black, mainly as ive had red basses in the past and the black PG goes really well.
I do think the tort is the perfect colour for fiesta red, but then tort goes with almost anything.

OT a bit but today im selling my HW-one jazz today, i've decided my CVP is going to be my only gigging bass until i can get a SBMM Ray34CA later this year. Ill have my CV Jazz as a back up or for when i fancy a change.

I feel the same: great instruments, poor colour choice. Mind you, the colours that Fender US are offering aren't much either if you compare with Fender Japan! Maybe there's a commercial philosophy hidden behind that behaviour? After all, we're talking about three branches of the same company!

I disagree, I love that Sonic Blue. Classic style pastel coloured basses really do it for me. Although I would like to see one with a tort pick guard on it.

I honestly love the FR P and the White J. Very classic...er.....vibe....!

The Blue isn't my thing.

White makes the bass look too pinkish to me, plus i think white and red basses are just rather boring looking.

got my pickguard and junk in already, bass is on the truck for delivery,should be with in the hour!

EDIT:Man how does a package stay on a truck for 5 hours?

I definitely like some reds and colors in the reddish spectrum. Not my first choice, but I do like Dakota Red, CAR, and even shell pink and that coral color.

I like SOME Fiesta Red Fenders I've seen, but the CV Ps I've seen calling themselves that color look like bottles of Max Factor nail polish my wife has laying around. Just too (hot) pinkish/candy-like for me.

I could go for the blue but it looks like I'm only going to own one bass for the forseeable future (my only current bass--a black SX P / ol headstock) is in storage 3200 miles away from me. No way to get it back for now.

Anyways, if I am only going to be ableto have one bass, Iwould at least like it to be a color I really like. I'm on a very tight budget, so I know I can't be too choosy...but over the years I've found that while I like a lot of colors on other people's basses--pastels, metallics, etc.--for my own stuff I gravitate towards more plain finishes. Natural wood, off-white, black, some bursts, butterscotch...

I added a DPTT toggle to bring in the stock .047uF, a '020uF and a .100uF cap and yet still have the Tone pot work normally in all toggle positions.

excuse the ignorance,but what effect does that give you on your tone knob?

I like the idea and realization that I can add/delete the caps selectively and still be able to fine tune them when each is called into the circuit.

I can go from total mud and thump to fairly crystalline HIGHs - as far HIGH as a P can go anyway with 77s.

Still wish these necks were a little chunkier, but it still feels amazing. I'll get better pictures tomorrow. Put some old chromes on there and I can't believe it's not butter! This is the first time I've ever hated comming on here to post this and take pictures because it means I have to stop playing it. Enough talk, more play. Enjoy.

That looks great. This is the first one ive seen with a black PG and now i want to fit mine.I think ill have another look around for a black PG that fits better.

Did you have any problems with the pup covers being a tight fit?

yea, the originals would have fit fine but the cream ones required a little bit of sanding. Surprsingly the pickguard itself matched up fairly well to the body it just required some forcing in to place once i got some of the screws in.
