I wonder wondering how long it'd take before someone said something about it. It's my fiances, or it was rather. Her grandparents are renting their house out to us since they moved to florida and her grandma,like most old people it seems, is a pack rat for nostalgia and has kept her stuffed animals.

It's just been painted and had a seymour duncan installed, I plan on putting a better bridge and changing the pots soon. It has tremendous sentimental value so I plan on making it the best it can be.
Mine is a 1983 Squire made in japan located on the couch with the white pickguard. The other is a 1983 Squire on the far left up front that had a decal change, but it is still a squire from 1983.

Bilbo01, Congratulations, the neck on the CV60's is really nice. The only thing I like more about the Fiesta Red CV60 is the heavier Bridge for more sustain.
I havent found the bridge to allow the bass to sustain anymore than any other p bass i've ever owned.
the biggest difference between the two is going to be the neck. The 50s has a nice fat and round neck while the 60s has a much more shallow neck profile.
Despite what many people think, the bridge won't have any impact on the sustain. However, it will have some impact on the tone. I've swapped out mine for a Fender vintage style as have a few other TBers. To my ears, the low end sounds smoother and fuller and some of the high end was less brittle than before. This may or may not be a good thing depending on what you're after but I was trying to get a more vintage sound like my 57AVRI and swapping out the bridge made a much bigger difference than I would have thought.
Exactly what i did and i agree, sustain didnt suffer but the tone got a bit warmer.
I have the sonic blue version. The only differences (other than color and pickguard finish) between the two versions are the chrome saddles and bridge cover that are standard on the sonic blue.
As to changing out the bridge to get a warmer tone, I can't comment as I am very happy with the standard bridge.
Changing out the stock strings to a set of flats (GHS Precision) really warmed up the tone for me.
