am I crazy for wanting to buyy both VM Precisions (amber/white), switch the necks to maple on white, then selling off the amber/rw? I like oly white/ maple combo but that's not how squier offers them. i'd have to buy both & switch.

It's your money, and your bass collection. Nobody is qualified to answer that set of questions you've presented except you!

If you want to have ten basses all the same but with different strings on them .... that's your business.

Last time I checked the Bass Police weren't arresting anyone for mixing/matching necks/bodies.

I don't want to send too much to the head and I have to readjust when I use my P with the EMG-P's in it now because it sends my amp into clipping more than I'd like if I don't. They are hot pups already indeed.

OR ......

Make a simple stompbox that has a volume attenuator that you use with the active 18volt bass. When you use the P, bypass the attenuator stompbox (also sometimes known as a "cut box").

Got it! (local CL) A little TLC upon arrival and this is a very decent instrument for the $80 listed. Checking it out, the jack nut was loose, the strings were crap - but the neck was good and it was in VGC aside from a proper set-up. Very clean -only one major chip on the headstock top/front. (no worries mate!) Great colour - a very fine metallic deep blue, and I'm not generally a blue person. (or I'm very picky about blue) Crafted in Indonesia SN IC001211665 ... so made in Indonesia by Cort in 2000 if I'm reading it correctly. (the body solid agathis) The neck feels satiny good and it has an aged warm tint to it - there's even a slue of tiny birds-eye's in the maple! It plays very nicely and sounds ok as is but could merit from better electronics/pu's.

It's a Standard Series. (same size passive pu's) I changed the knobs, put threaded bridge saddles on to help align the string spacing better, strung up new DR rounds, replaced the tuners and installed a TBX tone pot/cap. Plays and sounds like a good Jazz should!

I have 2 modded Squires and an unmolested J bass.

P-bass with dumb paint, DiMarzio Split and on/off switch.

I don't currently have a photo of the 5 string J bass but I have put the soapbars and electronics from an active Yamaha RBX bass in it, but still isn't kicking.

My Squier j bass is riding around town on a UPS truck as we speak. Consider me a candidate for the bike gang until I have bass in hand and earn my cut.

Is this a 1% Squier Owners Club, or one of those clubs that rides in parades? I just need to know how much life insurance to buy.
