there were numbers on the first and second threadmaybe this thread should be renamed the Squier Owners Club (no numbers), seems to come up about every other page.

Wondering what kind of bridge would be a drop in for this bass and which pick ups are the most used as replacement for the originals. (Drop ins if possible)

The 5 string badass bridges are not a drop in replacement. I had to move my screws a cm towards the neck on my precision v. Not really problem but still. You could go for a babicz bridge. Great bridges and super sustain. Look nice shiny and bulky as well. String height is easy and raises the string evenly with only one screw. A hipshot bridge would be a good option but you have to order the right string width.
are the bodies on these beginner kits any good?
i am thinking about grabbing one of these, hoping it is black, to turn into a workhorse that i can take to school without worry, and travel with etc.
i have a black guard and knobs that i can throw on it, and could do a gotoh 201 clone in black for $20, and a PU down the line.
maybe some flats or rounds, and a nice setup.
they are asking $100 for both

I'm in with my new (to me) VM P/J. Snagged it for $150 used and it still had the plastic on the pg.
Got a set of Geezers on the way for it too.
