Never thought I'd have four Squiers.
Used the Skyburst Metallic Jazz for rehearsal Saturday.

The jazz in the middle here is a Squier I picked up a few years ago, plays pretty nicely, and I dropped in a 920d stack knob plate. I prefer the look of the stack knob

After 45 years of playing drums, I finally decided last December to get a bass. First one was a Squier Paranormal 54 because the reviews were good and the price was fair for having no clue how to play -- and the local music store had one in stock.
After a couple months, I found it to literally be a handful for my tiny mouse claws, so I put together an ebay parts Jag, CV body, Affinity neck. Love the medium scale, and I was really happy with how the neck felt. It's my number one, though I still challenge myself with the 54. Also, the Jag is my lab rat for developing maintenance, repair, and mod skills (shimming, set ups, wiring, etc.). Oh, and it sounds great.

I’ve owned many Squiers and I’m currently using 2 Classic Vibe J basses as my main electric basses (I even used one of them on the recording of my most recent album). Honestly wouldn’t mind adding more to my collection.
Also, I'm glad to hear you found something that works for you on the Ergonomics-front!
Small hands have never made a bit of difference playing drums, in fact, my fingertips line up in a very nice spot to get some extra zip on the sticks, but wow. I felt it right away on the first three frets of a 34 inch scale bass. No way was I ever going to get OFPF to work comfortably. It's much easier on my left hand to do 124 on a medium scale and shift more often than an F1 driver.

I have smallish hands (but a big...wait for it!...heart). I've played bass for many years and have just become accustomed to different breadths of neck, though 5-strings make me work. However, I prefer a 34" scale bass. I recently bought a Squier 40th Anniversary Jazz Bass which has a 1.5" nut width. @jglunt, I'm in a very similar situation to you in regard to age, preferences, etc. Glad to hear the Squier jazz bass you bought is easy to play. Is it well balanced? I briefly owned a Jazz many years ago and had difficulty with its heavy neck dive. Just curious as to how well balanced you feel yours is.
It has a slight amount of neck dive. Nothing serious. I use a 3" wide suede strap with it and have no problem with neck dive now. If you're ambitious, you could find some lightweight tuners and a high-mass bridge. Those changes should help, but neck dive on mine is so slight I didn't bother.
Just ordered a reasonably priced demo CV J bass in daphne blue from Sweetwater. Already have a set of TI flats to put on it.

Got the daphne blue bass a couple days ago, but it has a bad tone pot. Easy fix but still a little frustrating. Not sure if it’s even worth reporting to Sweetwater.
From what I could tell it was way brighter than I was expecting, even with deadish stock strings. Thinking I might actually put on a set of La Bella flats to balance it out.

I would report it to Sweetwater. They're supposed to do that 50 point inspection. Somebody missed something, and they need to know about it.
Congrats, bummer about the pot, It’s an east fix but for sure inconvenient, if the bass looks and feels good I wouldn’t bother but if it doesn’t just swap the bass out. Curious of the finish of the body, is it nice because mine was stellar.
The finish is gorgeous. It does have a couple small cosmetic blemishes but nothing that detracts from it, overall.
No pic didn't happen is an ancient TB rule... also we like pictures of basses 'round he'e!
