Currently it's wearing this little bitty one (-which is working out great with a little two-sided tape...)

I'm in. My recently acquired Squire Jazz in Charcoal Frost Metallic. Being a flats guy, I tried a few different sets, but have settled on La Bella 760FLs....

The little thumb rest is from a site called Thumb Rocker. Tom there makes them for screwing on top of p-bass pups, but I use them with two sided tape so I can install them anyplace I want on my basses. If you're gonna do the same you need to get the 'old style' as their backs are flat and better for taping. The new style ones have permanently molded shims on them which won't work as well with the 2-sided tape.. I've found the strong 3M or Gorilla two-sided tapes are excellent for this purpose; I've used the 3M tape for about 6 months now and the Thumb Rocker rest has remained firmly on my bass!

My Squier Vintage Modified Precision Bass V (MII, 2015) in Candy Apple Red.
The 5-string retainer bar was inspired from the stock one on my Sire Marcus Miller V7.
The B-string tone has been significantly improved.

I have that same axe. I noticed the B-string balance was a little wonky and once I was satisfied the touchup on the setup I did was finished, I fine-tuned the pickup height, and that reeled it right in to a good balance with the other 4 strings. Just sounded a little off, now it's perfect.

These are just stoopid good, and owning this one there's no way I'd shell out for a 'real' Fender P5.

You sure that's an Affinity? Normally, Affinities say "Affinity" on the headstock.

Got a nice Squier Classic Vibe '50 Precision deal in the works. Been looking at this style bass,and like the vintage look,and noticing the quality. Haven't played one,but reading lot of positive reviews. Previous owner

replaced original pickup with Seymour Duncan. Should have sometime next week. Waiting until Holiday this weekend passes to ship to me. Both in agreement. Looking forward to getting in an empty case I have available.

Most of my basses are Squiers, all but a couple, and I still own them all. My first was the Standard series PJ Special (c.2006); my latest a CV70s Precision in walnut (c.2021). The Affinity P-Bass is probably the most comfortable of the; the Affinity J-Bass plays unbelievably well.
