What a find! Congratulations. I can’t say anything about the pups in that model. The pups in my 2005 Squier Jazz were lacking. I replaced them with 3rd generation Fender Noiseless and it made a huge difference. I bet you will like the Seymour Duncans. And you won’t have to pay for routing the body to put in the pups (I did, it was costly but worthwhile).

I've got a Squier bass too! It's high enough in quality that I've never felt compelled to mess with the pickups or electronics. It's older now than the oldest Fender Jazz was when it was made.

Looks exactly like my first bass I ever bought, back in '87. Same color, same "made in Japan"; same gold-foil thingy (ground) going from the bridge p/u to the bridge.

OK I'm on board. I picked up new Squier sunburst Classic Vibe 60's jazz bass off amazon a couple weeks ago. (Came from Chicago Music Exchange). Love it. I'll work on getting a photo up sorry just have a prehistoric little phone. I'm a guitar player who just kind of quit playing several years ago. Have always thought about getting a bass so I finally did.

Count me in! I got a 60s Classic Vibe Precision in Olympic White a few days ago and I absolutely love it!

I got extremely lucky with this one as it only weighs 7.8lbs! The downside to this is that there is definitely a bit of neck dive. So I'm wanting to put some lighter tuning machines on it, but I'm struggling a bit to find info on what my best choices would be as most posts are for the older, Chinese-made Squiers. I'd like to throw some Hipshot Ultralites in, but I can't find the specs for the current Indonesian-made CV (and I'm waiting to pickup some new strings in a couple days otherwise I would just take the tuner out and measure right now.) Does anyone know if the Ultralites will fit properly?

The ½" Ultralites should be fine. I installed a trio of licensed Ultralites and a ½" Drop-D tuner into a 2019 CV Jazz headstock last year.

One tip if you've never installed Ultralites. I've always found there's a tiny amount of space between the ferrules and the holes in the headstock…a little bit of "play", if you will. So, what I do is wrap a few, tight layers of masking tape around the ferrule, however much I need to ensure a snug fit, then trim the excess off.

If you can't find anything here on the TB Classifieds, you can always get them directly from Hipshot. The "licensed" ones have the advantage of being less expensive, but aren't reversible. Meanwhile, the USA-made ones are reversible, but cost a bit more.

What configuration are you looking at, three + detuner like the one pictured above or four standard keys? Either way, happy hunting!

I actually just found a set of black USA-made Ultralites on reverb. No detuner as this bass is to be my standard tuned bass to compliment my B standard tuned bass. I was going to order directly from Hipshot, but I was reading about serious delays so got to hunting down somewhere that had them in stock. Thanks again for the help!

No problem at all! So, what's next? Gonna go black with the rest of the hardware and pickguard to go full-on "high-contrast"? :cool:

I have a Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass. Its the 34" scale model with the Concentric stacked knobs. It has the following upgrades. Duncan P/J Quarter Pounder pups. All CTS pots, A Hipshot type A Bridge, Sprague Orange Drop Cap. I use DR Lowriders and play it through a SWR 550x Amp. It plays and sounds sweet. Its my #1.
