Squier Owners Club

Got a new Squier VM pbass. My first bass, should be fun. :)

Hello all! As a recent Squier-acquirer I want to join the club. I bought this bass about a month ago but she arrived at my house last friday. I bought her mainly to use as a backup bass. Sounds and plays great. She's a bit neck heavy. At this point I don't have any plans for modifying her but who knows, maybe one day she'll grow big pickups like her sister. Here's my family pic.

Just picked this up on ebay for $130 shipped. It's a Squier standard with P/J pickups. Very nice. I was worried at first cause the description just said "guitar is in great shape, never used". Well, I took the neck off because I was curious of the year, and it's stamped on both neck and body JUNE 04. This bass must have never got played because it looks brand new. Still has the plastic on the guard. I peeled it off and the pickguard kind of has a off white aged look to it. Not sure if you call it black sparkle or metalic black. But it's not your normal black, has some sparkle to it. Also came with a stand and I needed one of those as well. I'm gonna put a used set of flatwounds I have in my parts box in this.

Dude. You're teasing us. I looked at the pic and my first thought was 'Squier did an RBV????? I gotta have one of those!!!' :hyper:... :rollno: :scowl: :( :bawl:

That's just mean

I sanded the logo off the front of the headstock and the serial number on the back. I put a Fender P-Bass logo on. It turned out pretty good, but it didn't look pro. You could see the lines and I didn't really feel like sprayin' a bunch of clear over it. It was mainly an experiment because I've got 3 of these logos and this one did have a scratch on it. But, I ended up removing it and keepin' it plain. I did get it back put together, put some Fender flatwounds that I had in my parts box, and it sounds really good. Feels really good. Pretty much like my other P. But, I don't need 2 black PBasses so this one is gonna be listed local on craigslist. I just feel I could get more local. No paypal fees or shipping. But here she is back together...

I've considered doing this blank headstock thing with my daughter's bass and then writing her name on it as if the brand were 'Miranda'. But I haven't actually done it.
