Here is my "modified" Vintage Modified.

- Seymour Duncan MM pickup
- 3-way switch (series-single coil-parallel)
- Gotoh bridge

It's a great bass for the money and the mods made it a bit different than my other basses.

One of my favorite basses here on TB.

i like the half metal pickguard i think frank bello had something similair

guns n roses rocks pre 1994

in fact, i took the idea from John Wetton in King Crimson, when he painted his Precision white and removed the pickguard

by the way..has anyone tried to put a greasy groove pickguards on your squire jazz?will it fit perfectly?..im planning to put a greasy groove PGs.any thought?

I think any pickguard that will fit a "standard" Jazz (MIA, MIM) will fit a Squier 60s Classic Vibe Jazz. They won't fit the Squier 70s Vintage Modified Jazz bass, as it has a "pointed" control plate. I have both basses, and have replaced the pickguard on the Classic Vibe. So, greasy groove should fit the 60s Classic Vibe Jazz, but probably not other Squiers.

i forgot to mention, that my bass came with an strage neck! i mean, the neck is too thin to be a Precision neck, i think it's a Jazz Bass neck. don't know if the previus owner changed it, or maybe the chinese factory ran out of precision's and put there a Jazz XD

better to me, i like jazz necks!

Just chiming in to say, the VM jazz and the dual action truss rod are a lot of fun! I felt like a monkey last night adjusting the neck! It's all good now, but I had a bit of a back bow in it last night that looked really funny for about a second....

slow adjustments make a big difference between just feeling stupid and inept and damaging the bass....I just felt stupid for about 1/2 hour last night....

I sure wish Squier would offer the '51 Reissue in a lefty version. I was messing around with one in the store awhile back and really want one!

The closest I can get is to build one and that will cost around $600.

Sadly I think I have to leave the club! I have to sell this VM 70's Jazz to help pay for my Aria. It will be a sad day when it's gone because my Squier has been great fun. I highly recommend these basses.
