Other than the obvious that you need to have a spare string in case one of the important four fail, it was worth the wait to see it.

To those of you that have Squier Affinity P-Basses with rosewood fretboard, do they have the skunk stripe at the back of the neck? I've been trying to figure out the deal with this since I am looking into buying a Squier Affinity P-Bass but I do not want one with skunk stripe because I think it's ugly.
So if you have a Squier Affinity P-Bass with rosewood fretboard, could you please tell me if it has a skunk stripe or not? And also the year it was made and the country it was made in if you know.
Also if anyone has access to or works in a music store that has new Squier Affinity P-Basses it would be great if you could tell me whether they have a skunk stripe or not, because if I buy one I will order it since the local music store don't have any Squiers.

And while the images there clearly show that there is no skunk stripe I have no way of knowing if those pictures are completely up to date.
From further research, it seems to be that the newer Chinese made Squier Affinity P-Basses do not have a skunk stripe, but that the Indonesian made ones do.
The Indonesian ones are the ones you get in the Stop Dreaming Start Playing bundle, while the Chinese made is what you get if you just buy the bass or guitar separate.

Admitting NOTHING - I bought one of the Squier Affinity Bass-Packs for my wife (yeah - I know, don't go there) as she had the idea that she could play bass to my guitar.
Well that didn't work out ("Geez - this thing's HEAVY!!!") and that bass went into closet maidenhood for 13 years.
More to the point, that is a Chinese from that bass-pack. I still have that bass, amp and bag and after a miraculous transformation with some ROTO flats, new p'ups* and an extra cap, it's a front-line player now.
The Chinese necks are sweet from that time period - and perhaps the CD series of old aren't the same as the current Affinity line for Country Of Origin. Makes sense.
* - the original p'ups died on the E/A string.

Ok. Signing up. This is my Squier Affinity P. Made a Yako, Taiwan, in 2000, it is stock except for the flats. It was a cheap pawn shop find - and it's the best bass I've owned as far as tone, clarity and playability. I had a really bad Fender once and had sworn them off, but this one just said (in a low tone) "Play Me!". I love it. 
I'm even considering getting a second one to mod a bit...

I dont like stock squier basses so i dont own one at the moment.
But squier guitars (NOT affinity) are awesome!

My new project! This thing had the frets pulled with a flat head screw driver, then had the paint stripped with a flat head screw driver, then had a humbucker cutout made with a flat head screw driver. Then was split in half. Then glued together. Now years later the remaining peices are mine to rebuild! In the picture i've already sanded all the undercoat off the front of the body. I'm going to stain the body and refinish the neck. Then find cheap parts to finish it off. Anyone with jazz electronics feel free to send them my way
