Squier "Perfect Fit Replacement Parts" Mega thread

Thanks for this, do you know that they fit a VM 70s Jazz with no gap at the pickguard end?
I've already bought the Musiclily black control plate, but I don't like the fit. That's why I started thinking of options to adapt the chrome control plate that's on it and that fits without a gap.

Thanks for this as well.
Haven't decided b/w gloss and matte yet, hoping to hear from someone who has successfully used this type of wrap.
I've actually seen a 'chalkboard' finish as well

Try chat with them to measure the control plate.

It's not so much the size of the plate as it is the 'slope' of the shoulders where it meets the pickguard...

I've put the Musiclily one on with black tape under the gap to see if my brain will accept it :eyebrow:
Might just leave it on until I get some vinyl and wrap the chrome one that fits. Will also likely wrap the pickguard so they are both the same 'shade of black' :help:

Time to blow the dust off this thread with an update.

I recently bought a used Squier 40th Anniversary Jazz with the intention of harvesting it's neck for another one of my parts-bass Projekts. Unfortunately, the neck heel was too wide to fit a standard Fender/Squier pocket...by a mere .04 inches, no less. :banghead:

So, let this be a warning to anyone who gets the notion of using either a 40th Anniversary Squier's neck or body. While they are made in Indonesia, just like the current Classic Vibe series, they're being built along a slightly different blueprint. In that way, they remind me of the Squier Standard series...they're necks are just a bit too wide at the heel to use as a drop-in replacement.

Probably too late but I installed this one and the fit is perfect, no gap: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00CTJ1OPK

My apologies if this has been asked in the previous 44 pages of posts, but does anyone know what replacement neck will fit a Squier Vintage Modified 5 string body?

I thought the Warmoth MIM 5 Jazz neck would, but just read elsewhere that it won’t.

If not, does anyone know a place where I can get a VM neck?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Late to this popular thread but hoping some TBers are still checking in…
I’ve got a 2001 Squire Standard Precision PJ Special…looking for new pickups.
Will the EMG Geezer PJ set fit? Worried about the Jazz bridge pup route.
If you have a more recent Jazz bass, measure their neck and bridge pickups, then compare it to your Squier Standard. I can't say for sure, but I'm pretty sure it was made when they used neck-sized pickups for every product.

At one point, I had all three...a Standard Strat, Jazz and P-Bass Special. When I modified the Jazz, it had two, neck-sized pickups. So, I took it to my local Guitar Center tech, handed him a bridge-size Jazz template and he opened the routes just enough that I could use most, if not all, modern Jazz sets.

Thx…looks like GC guy did a nice job!
I suspect I’ll need to do the same if the EMG Geezer bridge doesn’t fit.
AND…Love your Satin Pewter Standard collection! Very cool! (I’m a big grey fan too…you may have read my Aerodyne Dolphin Jazz posts!)

It's just an educated guess, but I strongly suspect you'll need to do some routing.

Here was my first Squier Standard Jazz bass, built along some of the same lines as your Standard P-Bass Special. I bought a set of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders, but found out the hard way that the bridge route was too small. The pickguard fit, but only barely.

In the group shot I posted earlier, the one I refer to as "The Three Amigos", that was my second Squier Standard Jazz. It was the one I had that extra routing done upon. You might notice that it has a Fender Deluxe Hi-Mass bridge, but it wasn't a 100% fit. It's hard to tell, but only four out of five screws are installed, so most bridges, even Fender MIM Standard ones, will either need a screw left out or some drillin' & fillin'.

I replaced the bridge pickup in my 2008 P Bass Special with a noiseless one, and it needed the same treatment as shown in Malak's pictures - a little bit taken off at each end of the cavity, and a little around the pickup ears. I did mine with files and sandpaper. If you bevel the finish at the ends before you start extending the cavity, you're unlikely to chip the paint.
Of course as soon as I played it, I realised that the original pickup sounded way nicer than the replacement, so it's now back to stock
I added some foil shielding to the cavity while I was in there, so it wasn't a total waste of time. The original paint was non-conductive, plus it wasn't connected to ground.

hi im new here does anyone know where i can find a squire precision bass pickguard preferably in tortoise shell because from what I heard most are either really bad or don't fit and need lots of trimming
Could you give us more to go on, please? What's the year, series, etc...? There are so many versions out there and some are more customizable than others.
