Squier Precision Special

thanks oldrookie.i searched everything around here and i read all i could read.still, no dimensions. and it's ok, cause when i'll have it, i will look it for myself ( i just bought myself a digital caliper :D ) so.that's ok.

just wanted to hear people's opinion on this.moding it, and what pickups did u put. i am thinking about putting a P pup in the midle position and a J in the neck. i just want to hear something from u guys, i know you know alot!!

Well, like I said, I can't swear to it.

I think the issue with this bass is that it never got much acceptance. Squier no longer produces it and the ones available are hard to find--and few are looking for them. The neck is 2" wide. The new Squier Deluxe Active Jazz V has similar width, but it has a flatter fingerboard and a thinner feel front to back.

This bass feel a bit more like a G&L Tribute L2500 neck, but with more width. I like it a lot better than the DAJV, but neck feel is a pretty individual thing.

Can't really help with pick up dimesions, other than I have read that both are the same and are neck pickups.

thank you very much rookie!!!

everyone says the same.good feel, great finish and that is what i am looking for.

just the pickup isue. i was thinking about doing a P/J setup, because under pickguard there is room for a humbucker ( at least i hope that ) and then a neck pickup in the bridge position. i have alot of ideas just not to many advices :D

ok, so, i scored that one! it's mine now!!

i have a wireing kit ( MIA fender vintage one ) and some new strings ( fodera ... waiting for them to arrive ) and i am thinking in a nut , just hard to find one sloted ( 2" long, like the deluxe jazz 5 squier ) and i just need some tuning keys ( the hardest to find )

i am in a deal to get a set of MIJ pickups from a 1980 jazz bass.

if anyone has some 4+1 tuning keys i want them :P .

i will get some pictures when this holydays are over !

great feel, big wide neck ( i just love that !!!!! ) and big precision body.

this next week i will begin to mod it!
