Just got my VM Jazz last week, still playing around getting the action right, so far, so good, digging the way it plays, sounds, and looks. Only mods so far (and only ones I will do unless some of the hardware goes south), Straplocks, thumb rest, and proper black Jazz Bass type knobs. That reminds me, if anyone is still looking for authentic loooking black Jazz Bass style push-on knobs that fit the slotted shafts of the VMJ's pots, BassPartsResource.com has 'em for $5.99. They fit perfectly and look good.
Look under Jazz Bass knobs for "Jazz Bass Import Knobs", product code JBK-IMP.

Hey - I never noticed that. I always thought one end was closed and they could only go on one way.

Filed away in my vast mental archives for now. I get terrible neck aches from carrying around this giant brain all day.

He used the spit coil P-bass covers instead of the single coil. Not how Fender did it but there's nothing illegal about using the "wrong" covers. Use what you like.

Hey everybody...amm well I ain't got no VM but I am buying one in about a week or two but I just wanted to know...how good are they? does the VM P sounds as good as the Fender std? how about the VM Jazz? are they any better than the CV?
