I have a Leo on my fretted J and it sounds great but just thinkin more string on the body would resonate better for the fretless..

so should I just get a 201 for the fretless on not? can't find anymore leo's around...

I've had the VM Jazz for about 9 months or so, Just got the VM Precision Bass today!

I bought the Squier Vintage Modified fretless jazz bass during the black Friday weekend from Alpha in Va Beach. It looks beautiful and sounds even better. The only thing I might eventually do is install a badass bridge. I put one on my Fender P-bass and it made a world of difference.

Anyone have good results with the badass on the VM fretless?

I'm with you guys in spirit...on May 6th of this year someone broke in my house and stole mine along with my MIM Fender Jazz Deluxe(with Bartolini's) and a MTD Kingston Artist...a sad day. I havent been able to replace it yet but plan on getting another one soon.

Vintage tuners are too large for the smaller Squier headstock. I just took a body from a fretless, put a Mexican Fender fretted neck on it with a Fiesta red head stock. I did a string through conversion on the body and am putting the Tone Rider Jazz bass pickups on it. Those are THE best pups for the money bar none. I'mm going to put the Hipshot Lollipop vintage tuners on it too. I also picked up one of the 70s type maple body that was not very heavy and nice grain. I'm putting an Allparts WMP inlay maple neck on that one. These are great axes right out of the box, but it's fun to play around with them! :-)
