I have the JV and installed a 2-band preamp. Woke it the hell right up!

I have a P5 and J5... swapped the bridge on both (Hipshot B on the J, Schaller on the P). Hipshot tuners on the J, Stellartone Tonestyler on the P. Thinking of adding an Audere to the J in the near future.
