My first reaction when I saw that was to say "oh dude, I'd play the CRAP out of that!" to no one. Seriously, count me in if it's available in the US. I am kinda bummed that it doesn't do everything but make you coffee like the MIJ version, but I would run it in passive most of the time anyway.

Looks to me like squier took a jagmaster (Invalid Link Removed) and made a bass version out of it. I like it and I hope fender makes a p/j jag.

Squier does , they dont have a real rep to ruin and alot of there stuff is aimed at a younger crowd not to many 16 year olds drop 1500$ on a vintage reissue fender.

Interesting though that there are no electronics switches like the real one. The body style is a dream, but isn't the versatility the appeal?

The VM Precision is made of agathis and i find no drawbacks. It's a decent weight and does not noticeably affect the tone. Sounds like a P bass.

On another note, I want one of these desperately. Before this my plan was to buy a fender jag and route it for a P pickup. I WILL own one of these when they become available.

Me too. I sold my Squier VM Jazz to help fund my Jag. I sort of miss it... but only a little.

I love my Jaguar. Noisy pre-amp? Yep. Poorly shielded? Yep.

This bass is kind of like a girlfriend who carries five extra pounds and tends whine a little too much... but boy can she shake her hips.

I will buy one.
