Squier vs. Fender ?!?

Hi folks, I was looking at the Fender / Squier website and it just dawned on me that the Squier lineup is much more attractive to me, especially the P-basses.

I mean, these things here... Invalid Link Removed

...look so much better than these (to me): Invalid Link Removed

Am I the only one? Don't mean to start a debate over which is better, I still love my MIJ Fender more than anything else. But I just think Fender could upgrade their higher-end lineups to offer a little more... More color options, more pickguard options, etc.

All I know is I called Fender and suggested they change the name of the Player series basses to the Ho-Hum series and they hung up on me!

Seriously, the new Squier finishes put them to shame.

I did not quote you... Regardless, Fender seems less innovative than they need to be, especially if they do not hesitate to charge a hefty premium for the logo on the headstock. That said, I have been less impresed in recent years, by the MIC Squiers.

Not sure what not quoting me has to do with you missing the point of that post.

I agree the Squiers look good and I like their color schemes a lot as you pointed out. I just think it’s hard to find a decent feeling one - most just do not sound or feel good to me at all. I will continue to try them as I see them at store fronts/my local GC.

They are no longer MIC but MII.

And hello Player Series Mustang! Didn’t notice that guy on the roster before.

Both links take me to the Fender main page. Posting pics of what you are comparing would help.
