Smart move, IMHO. I noticed the change yesterday when I went on to the Fender site to look at the Jaguar bass and noticed the Squier VM models had appeared in that section. When able to compare them side by side I found myself having more GAS for the Squiers than before.
I see Squier as being part of the Fender range anyway and all the product families are in common with Fender so the combined website seems sensible.
