Squire 1989 P-Bass how much should i sell for?

Can you define how you "found" this bass?

It's actually against the rules for non-supporting members to post "what's it worth" threads. That said, the worth of that bass is "what you can get for it". Do some research on Ebay to see what similar basses have sold for.

you should just keep it. I bet it's a heckuva player dude. Worth more than its cash value.

The '89 Squier strat that I played was a plywood body, dunno if that's the case with that one, but it definitely brings the value down. What's the country of origin?

I have a P/J P bass special that looks just like that except for the J pup and extra tone pot. I am guessing it is the same year. I got it at GC used for 60.00 the day after a dirty hippie type brought it in on sell for some quick cash. No offense to Dirty hippie types but it was the only way i could discribe this guy. I happened to be in the day before and saw him haggling with the manager about it. It is one of the nicest sounding stock basses i have ever played....beat to hell but a gem. If thats one is close keep it!

My 89 Strat also has a plywood body but I am not sure if its because of how old it is but it sounds nice and loud and alot nicer than some of the Affinity Strats that are around these days..If its one of the Korean made ones I say keep it

Yeah, most the bodies on those Squiers have plywood - and are made in Korea I believe. I'd keep it though, could always be cool for recording if you don't play it much - hang it on the wall or something

I actually think the plywood body brings out some upper mids in my Squier II maple-neck P (w EMG's). Solid, deep tone for days.

Squier II's were mostly all plywood. Resale is very low. That said, it doesn't mean it's not a good playing/sounding bass - just keep it, and play on it.

Keep the bass and enjoy it. My girlfriend bought me my 1989 Squier Precision s.n S 9 78682 twice,see the thread My Girlfriend does it Again.

The bass was made by Samick,and When i was looking for information on these basses,i found an old What Bass book i had from 1989/90 & it said that the body was made out of Basswood.
These are great basses the stock pickups are not that bad,and i think that if you wanted to upgrade any parts on this bass you would end up with a bass that would be better than the MIM Fenders.
As for what it could be worth my girlfriend paid £90 for mine this Christmas,& I have no plans of getting rid of it.
