That sucks, I hope something gets worked out for you man. Either with the band or finding something else to be able to play music with less headache. That's why I stopped giving details about the band that shall not be named, because it's only gotten worse and now there a bunch of behind the scenes BS I didn't even know about until last weekend. In the mean time we've been getting show and label offers (?!), but we haven't practiced in well over 6 months and our album still isn't finished (technically not even finished being WRITTEN, even though it's 75% done). There's almost no communication among band members about any of it either.
Man, sorry to hear about all of that. CM has some street cred in the Doom world (it's a small world, but still), so the label offers aren't totally surprising to me. The BS can be frustrating, for sure. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to have that kind of attention but not be able to move forward, or even communicate about it.
For us (drummer and I) it's getting to the point where we just have to expect this kind of stuff. We've been over it all before, communicated about everything, but nothing has changed.
The question is, is it worth it to put up with this garbage? How much can we put up with before one of us has had enough and walks? I've been close a couple of times. Drummer has more patience than me, but he's getting fed up.
I'm at least going to search out another project. I'd like to work with drummer from this band, but he's already got another gigging band besides the doom band and probably won't want to do a third.
I'm thinking some good old fashioned stoner/desert rock would be goddamned fun to play at this point.
Oh well, first world problems, right?
