Stage 81: S/D thread

The dually is pretty epic. It doesn't go quite as low as the 66 but smoother throughout the range. Less highs, little more "traditional" sounding but still super loud and handles tons of low end.

I was using the dually solo for awhile at practice tonight, handled it just fine. Granted the guitarists were only using half rigs but it's easily the loudest straight 2x15 I've ever heard. Sounds fantastic too.

You went with the Faital drivers?

Dave has those tuned superbly in the Dually. Isnt the behemoth down low that the '66 is, but it is still a monster in its own right.

Oh can you two make me jones anymore for my Bassic...

Just so I am not jazzing up since this is my first preamp poweramp separates rig. Preamp out to poweramp in is a regular instrument cable right, you only use speaker cables from the amp/poweramp to the speaker cabinet right?

You'll probably want to use a 1/4" to XLR, depending on the power amp. What power amp are you using, and what kind of outputs does the preamp have?

Yeah I got the faitals in there. Sound pretty great. Realy excited to get the dunwich and be able to set up a seperate preamp/EQ to each cab.

It's going to be fun.

I have a Tube Works blue tube rack preamp.

And I have a Yamaha P2500S power amp

1/4" line out from blue tube,1/4" input on Yamaha. Guitar cable.
Hook up without a cab. Experiment with volume and drive knobs and watch lights on front of power amp while playing bass HARD.
If you can clip the power amp input you are fine.

Thanks, yeah I have it set up right after all lol. Now I need to buy a footswitch to use the boost function on the blue tube without having to switch it off and on on the front panel. I may snatch up a 1/4 to XLR next time I am at GC or Samash.
