Stage Etiquette (Leaving Tuner On)?

Not the easiest thing to see all the time. The swivel heads on the mini ones are a great idea.

I don't think they look that bad, either. I do clip mine so I can see the screen behind the headstock and only the clip part is on the front, though.

I've got the mini and it's great - from the front it's a small black bar on the headstock and locks like part of the black hardware, so I don't think anyone in the crowd is likely to notice or be bothered by it.

So long as your tuner isn't that stupid wart that lives on the headstocks of guitars everywhere. When I see players who leave their tuners on their instruments I just wanna take said instrument and smash stuff....

so you've never owned or gigged with a purely acoustic instrument i take it...

i gotta agree though with plugged-in stuff, an in-line tuner will track much faster and allow for silent tuning.

i like setting things up so that the tuner is always on and tracking and i can mute if i want; a splitter of some sort up front, with the second out going straight to the tuner, and something like an A-B box in line with the main out so i can hit it to kill the sound if i want, with the tuner working either way.

Tonight is my first gig playing with my new fender rack mount tuner. I just wanted to know if it was appropriate to leave it on during the set or to only turn it on when I'm using it? The lights are super bright and I'm sure the crowd would notice it if I left it on. What do you guys do? Does this drive you crazy when you see it done on stage?
