Stage Persona

I've been thinking and as music is part of being a musician I do feel that it's almost as important to create a stage persona in order to make one a successful musician.

Think the sex pistols
Lady Gaga
Marlyn Manson
Slipknot
Here come the mummies
Munkey (koRn)
and so on.

So do you guys have a stage persona or do you try to keep it strictly about the music.

If you do have a persona what is it like? Attire, performance, attitude on stage, etc.

Yeah I am Mr.RT.Slinger on stage he is non smiling sunglass wearing, leather vested, shirt with cut of sleeves, hat wearing arrogant :Having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities. SOB. Yeah that is who I am when I hit the stage. And some people find me hard to approach? lol

You're a bass player. Stand in the back and groove. No one's going to pay any attention to you anyway.

Way back when a cover band I was in was just starting out we secured an agency for bookings.
When they came out to see us showcase . The first critique outta their mouths was "Move More, You guys are awesome musicians but you look like Stonehenge up there!"
So we spiced up our attire and started swaying and rockin and all that good stuff and Pow ! What a difference it made.

i read somewhere that "your stage personality is just an exaggerated version of your real personality"

... and i pretty much agree with that.

my stage persona is that of an ADHD ... some people in the forums described it as "burton-trujillio in the most inapropriate sitaution" lol
