standalone metronomes?

Anyone still use these? Or have we all moved onto apps and such?

I'm mostly playing keys these days, and my boards have metronomes built right in, but they can be fiddly. I think I miss the days when you could just reach over and turn a dial, like this:

It's funny, but it didn't even occur to me that there were metronome apps until just last night: I was doing a session at a local recording studio, and the engineer was...well, let's just say he was distracted, definitely not on his A-game...so when the bandleader asked if he could give us a click track while we ran through some sections, it took forever. Seriously, like 10 minutes of futzing around trying to create a click at the proper tempo and get it routed into the headphone mix :::angryface::: And about 9 minutes into that fiasco the keyboard player says "Y'know, I could just call up the metronome app on my phone..."
I had no idea those things existed! Definitely gonna download one now.

I recently started to practice with a metronome and found the old mechanical one from my childhood that use to sit on the piano. Plenty loud and works great.

I just bought one of these for $20 (Franz LM-5). I don't mind that the tempo isn't 100% on target. I just love the mechanical tick sound. Very satisfying. Decades old so who knows how long it will last. There's a video on YouTube showing how it works internally. Not what I expected at all.
