I remember seeing that on network television when it first aired. Arsenio always had cool musical guests!

Very cool! I got that album when it first came out but have never seen this video (or any other for that matter) of Stanley and Gregory together.
like bob, i was lucky to see these two masters when that installment originally aired. outrageously cool stuff! i'm sure we're all partial to stanley's work, but gregory hines was the absolute bomb! his brother, maurice, is/was no slouch either.

I remember back in the days of AOL when they would have chats with the famous people. Actors and musicians. You could send in questions and they would answer them in real time . It was really cool because Gregory Hines was a guest on one of those chat sessions, and I managed to get a question in regarding the origins of the Stanley Clarke call aberration. He answered it

FYSA: The 1st 4 Seasons of SNL are available on HULU. I was going through some choice ones last night.
Billy Preston, Zappa (twice), The Doobs, Ornette Coleman, Boz Scaggs...Scaggs doing "Lowdown"? A bit weird. I saw Jeff & Steve Porcaro...there was another drummer bashing away, as well. No shot of the bassist. Everything I watched was live, too.
Ornette on SNL, man that's awesome!
No way they'd let music like that on SNL today.
