Wow! I saw highlights on the sports news late last night - really, really good games, eh? Overtime in Game Seven - doesn't get much better than that.

Anybody willing to bet against the 'Canes? I thought a few months ago that this was Detroit's Cup to lose but man, the Hurricanes are rolling...

Hey Damon, I still have my Jets socks and my son regularly wears a Jets sweater at his weekly game - 'course, he alternates it with a Whalers sweater! :)

Well, y'know, I agree with the line in "that song" by The Weakerthans: the Jets mostly sucked anyway. Gretzky and Messier were always kicking the crap out of us, it seemed. The NHL brass and the player's association, too...

But they were OUR Jets and I'd be proud to wear the jersey. Bobby Hull wore that jersey.

It goes to show that it's not how well a team does throughout the season, but how it finishes. Both the Penguins and 'Canes finished the last 2 months of the season on fire. I guess it shouldn't be surprising that they're meeting to see who plays for the cup.

The Wings/Hawks series is gonna be awesome!
I think the Hawks have the advantage in net, but experience rests with the Wings.

I think both end in 6 games. Penguins/Red Wings rematch. Hossa will still be on the losing side. ;) (wouldn't that be hilarious?)

I hear you. They're still doing all this without 2 Alternate Captains and a starting defenceman for crying out loud!

Datsyuk and his 97 points is still out of the line-up but I hear that Draper's ready to go. The Penguins had it too easy with the Capitals maybe - I don't think Washington has the D, definitely not to compare with Detroit.

I think Detroit's got some totally awesome play-making capabilities. When they get everything clicking with that sucker they are about as good as hockey offense ever gets, IMO. They seem a fair bit larger than the Penguins, too...

But hey, it's the Stanley Cup finals and anything can happen. Pittsburgh showed us last night they can do more than skate with those guys: they can beat 'em, too.

Penguins have game. Redwings have way more game.

I'm hoping to be able to watch a Game 7 Stanley game before I put hockey to bed for baseball this year but I'm not sure that's gonna happen.

The Redwings are a swarm. The Penguins are annoying knats.

I'm rooting for Penguins but it's kinda like rooting for Cleveland sports teams in this series.....

Au contraire Tom - that's French for 'on the contrary'. :)

I looked up the roster a while back when I was trying to remember whether Chelios was 49 or 47 (47) and was astonished to see how many of Detroit's players are under 6 feet.

The only forwards over 6'0" are Abdelkader at 6'1" and Samuelson at 6'2" - Osgood's 5'10".
Their 6 D are 5'9", 5'10", 6'0", 6'1", 6'2" and the kid Ericsson at 6'4".

The Penguins have 6 forwards over 6'0" (Staal's 6'4") and 2 D at 6'0" going up to Gill at 6'7". Fleury's listed at 6'2"

Kinda interesting...

Wow, what a hockey game! Caught the first period on the Interweb at Long & McQuade, the second on the radio in the van coming home and watched the third at home. Datsyuk looked like a guy who's been nominated for three awards and that hit on Malkin! :)

It seemed as though the Penguins forgot all about the things they did to make them successful at home and were forced to play the Detroit way. Quite a spanking!

And I was even able to find a guy at work to bet on Pittsburgh! :D

Comic/joke. I'm from Michigan, almost Canada.

In the days of the garden of eden the animals could talk. Adam is on the couch watching football on tv, eating pizza and having a beer.
