Star Trek Beyond

I've enjoyed the re-boots--and I'll check out the new one when it comes out.

The original series is still my favorite by a long shot.
The animated series was cheesy, but fun.
I also enjoyed the even numbered original cast movies--although of the odd numbered ones III had its moments.

TNG I couldn't get into--I didn't like the characters.
DS9 got better after Sisko grew a beard (Not because of that, but at around that time.)--although it go silly near the end. But I did enjoy Iggy Pop's appearance.
Voyager was a waste of time, so I stopped it.
Enterprise started okay, got a bit better, nosedived & I stopped watching it--but I heard it got better.

The re-boot movies I like--good casting and fun characters--here are things they could have done better--but I liked them.

Kurn was cool but the man had problems. Ended up having his memory erased and reset cuz he couldn't live with Worf's dishonor.
Tony Todd was also an older Jake Sisko in an alternate future in DS9 and a Hirogen in Voyager.

Aaaannndd he had a role as a human on an episode of Enterprise, but since you guys think that show was an abomination, never mind. I believe he was Peter Weller's second in command.

Bwahahhaha!! Your nerd powers are weak. This guy was Paxton's second in command:

i found the reboot so against what original star trek, TNG and DSP was about and went so against canon that i decided i didn't want to pay to encourage them to make more of these. alas, most of my friends also felt that anything was better than nothing, so the new franchise continues.

I watched Thunderdome just yesterday. I know a lot of folks consider it a stinker, but I like it.

we liked it, too.

What's wrong with them? I think they're pretty good.

They're ridiculous. Why not do a Star Trek with different characters if you are going to re-write the stories, and make the characters' personalities different? Kirk doesn't act like Kirk. Bones doesn't act like Bones. And Spock CERTAINLY doesn't act like Spock! I realize I have exposed my extreme nerdiness, but the original Star Trek crew was the best of all crews, including TNG, Voyager, and any other. Plus, the movies have no Roddenberry to them, as far as what is conveyed in the story. They're just dumb action/adventure space movies. I hate them.

You didn't laugh when Kirk's hands swelled up? I almost peed myself.
