I agree. I didn't know they changed doctors (my mum watches it, I yell at the TV); I hated Yar, I thought she was pathetic, and so was Wesley - you would have thought a potential ST "heartthrob" would have gotten a better character.

Then I guess that was Johnothan Frake's role (Riker). I hated his beard though, he was so much better without it.

Anything with "Q".
...in the episdoe where "Q" lost his powers & then is given a 2nd chance-
In celebration, he puts 2 babes on Riker's shoulders. Riker sez, "I don't need your fantasy women". Uh, didn't Riker pick up Minutte in a holodeck bar?

HUGE Voyager fan here. I love the series. TNG was also awesome, but I wasn't as much of a fan of DS9. I hate the Ferangi, but Bashiir was an awesome character (the actor was on TNG twice before DS9 even existed).

My favourite episodes of Star Trek was the miniseries "The Year of Hell" on ST: Voyager where Red from That 70's Show plays a villain with the temporal ship.

That said, the first couple seasons of TNG make me violently ill with rage. Worst seasons of any show, ever.

As far as DS9 goes, I think they left Odo way underdeveloped. Personally, if I was a changeling, I wouldn't care what other people think, I'd be transmogrifying into everything!

I just couldn't stand most of the crew on DS9 which killed it for me.

TNG was quite timid when it started up. I vaguely remember an episode where they spent over 1/2 the show wondering if they should beam down to the planet! How lame is that?

Although there's one great derogatory comment from those dark years that still makes me laugh today, "Ugly bags of mostly water" when referring to us homo sapiens. :)

About half of the episodes of TOS are some of the best TV drama ever, IMHO. The other half, not so, and about 10 or 12 of those are real stinkers.

TNG? The 1st season was pretty lame, especially Encounter at Farpoint. The series got better with age. Some of my favorites were Picard as Locutus, the Q episodes, and the last Moriarity episode. I wonder if we will ever get an update on that? The low points were Wesley Crusher, and the replacement doctor. I loved Dr. Crusher, just lose the kid, m'kay? I also disliked a lot of the holodeck episodes, especially the Sherlock Holmes related one, except for the last Moriarity episode.

DS9? meh. My quadriplegic cousin loves it, and has tried to get me into it, but I never could get excited about the series. I watched the first couple of season, but never really thought the show was worthy of the franchise.

Voyager? My wife is a huge fan. I have seen about half of the episodes. Some of them are as good as stuff from TOS, IMHO. Some of them are pretty weak.

I love Enterprise. Can't wait for the new season! I had 4 episodes from last season on my PVR that I hadn't watched yet, and somehow the whole hard drive got erased.:(

But Encounter at Farpoint was a Q episode was it not? Where he put the Enterprise on trial for "crimes against humanity"?

Niggle, Dr. Crusher was the replacement Dr. The old lady who was Dr. was around when Yar was still on the show.

To me the holodeck episodes say, "We couldn't think of anything good, so we'll go back to the past. How about sometime in the 20th century?" :scowl:

I haven't watched but maybe 1 or 2 episodes of Enterprise so I can't comment beyond not liking Scott Bakula and thinking Jolene Blaylock should be a blonde. :)

Unless they come up with something completely refreshing I think Star Trek has been played out. I mean, millions of alien species across the galaxy, but the only differences are their noses and forehead wrinkles? Come on, costume crew! Get original!

Nope. Beverly Crusher was the original Doctor. She was replaced in season 2 by Diana Muldaur(Doctor Pulaski), thus allowing room for Wesley Crusher's character to 'grow'. She returned(thankfully) in season 3, and was the ship's Doctor for the remainder of the series.

To me the holodeck episodes say, "We couldn't think of anything good, so we'll go back to the past. How about sometime in the 20th century?" :scowl:

I agree with this, for the most part. There were a couple of 'Wesley' episodes that I enjoyed, but the show would have been better without his character.

Of course Crusher was the 1st Dr.
She was always trying to-
a)Get Wesley onto the bridge
b)Get Picard into the sack

I guess she eventually became Mrs. Picard(fastforward to the final episode, "All Good Things")

Your post reminded me of a couple TNG parallels/ties to the Original Series.
Diana Muldaur was in an epi on TOS.
Dr. McCoy was on TNG's "Encounter At Farpoint".
An early TNG epi was "The Naked Now" or "The Naked Time"...in any event, it was a throwback to TOS.
Spock showed up on TNG.

...did the tribbles reappear on DS9?


Favourite TOS episode was the one where Joan Collins was the focal point in time.
