Starting my own hvac company

If everything goes according to plan in the next few weeks I will be starting my own hvac company with my cousin. Just waiting for a few things to finalize. Wish me luck because I'm going to need it.
Good luck! As a small business owner myself (preschool), my advice is to find a good accountant/bookkeeper... that part threw us for a loop more than anything

Best of luck. I was a service tech for about 8 years. I worked for a couple of good companies and one really lousy one. A little extra on the service side, things like if you see a light on a tall ceiling out offer to change the bulb while you have your ladder out, go a long way with customers and having them call you again. You probably already know that, however. Again, I hope it works out and you guys are just as busy as you want to be or maybe a little more.

Best of luck to you.

I'm currently starting my own side business (not a hobby, I plan to make real money) and discovered that some of the things I thought would be easy turned out to be difficult while other things I thought would be hard went smoothly.

I reluctantly spent money on a business attorney and accountant but I'm now very glad I did. They educated me on some critical things that I needed to take care of that if I hadn't known about would have cost me a lot more money later and a gigantic hassle to fix. Particularly, I would have run seriously afoul of the tax man.

I wish all you guys, who are starting and owning small business success with your endeavors. Speaking from personal experience, it can be very hard at times but also very rewarding in both self satisfaction and monetarily too.
Also, as mentioned above, get someone who is good at keeping books and records so you can concentrate and focus on the service or product you are offering.
