Very, very interested in how it sounds!Just got my Spirit XT-2. I upgraded to EMG HBs and put LaBella flats on it and honestly I use it more than my Spector
Especially the bridge pickup! Do you have any sound examples by any chance?TalkBass has been independent since 1998. Add your voice.

I second, have to change the mine too...

The G&B Mag i read already... the BQ i gonna get me tomorrow...
How comes they get your bass to test?
After the review was done, I simply bought the bass.
Just one quick question: in your opinion, how does the new NS bass sound compared to the old ones made of composite material?
You could finish it now? Here's a attempt in 2002 to build me a Steinie, desperately the truss rod broke and i had to quit the atelier where i was building it...
Dreaming to have one is quite older but i had not the financial possibility back in the '80s...

No, as i said, i had to leave the place where i was building it.
Now she serves as decoration and she ain't bad for that...
You can try another luthier...
It's a little bit hard for me to make that comparison, as the only full composite bass I own is an L2 fretless (passive EQ) different by nature. The other basses I own are an XM2 (with passive EQ) and the XQ2T (with active HazLabs EQ). The latter is on the workbench right now and didn't get any "real" playing yet.
My personal impression so far (which is backed up by both reviews): the CR 5 is the "best of both worlds". It delivers any sound from clean and bright funk bass to deepest growling. The additional piezo does not only deliver an "acoustic" flavour, but helps to get a very clean and defined attack. This is especially useful with the low B string. The (still) headless design, the carbon neck core and the phenolic fretboard provide the same goodies as a full carbon bass, which means an absolutely equal response all over the fretboard, no dead spots, the bass remains present within a mix, no matter if you're playing low or high notes. The sustain is fantastic, and I personally (disclaimer: I'm a guitarist) find the wider neck and string spacing easier to play.
Bernd
Bernd, is it 19 mm spacing? Surely not??
Did you get a good price on it? * You can pm or email me!!!)
There's my answer!! hahahaha!
Do you like it anyway?
