Does anyone know where to find any information of what kind of preamp is on Steinberger XQ version 2 and where to find it's internal and external diagrams?

My problem is that the battery dies very fast, like in 1 day it'll be dead on an unplugged bass. The wiring seems to be ok, so it is very likely an internal problem. Trying to troubleshoot here...

I don't have the complete information for the bass EQ, but here is the Invalid Link Removed, and this is the external wiring of the (very similar) Invalid Link Removed.

However, a dead battery on an unplugged bass definitely points to a short between ring and ground on the output jack, so the problem occurs outside of the board.

I've read on the internet that some people experience trouble with strings slipping, or even breaking...

I have not had any strings slip or break in all the time that I have used it and I make the screws very tight.

I've got an early L2, was endorsed by Steinberger throughout the 80's. This was my workhorse bass from Oct '82'-July '89', loved it and sounds great. It's now retired in my home.

Doesn't look like Pino in the clip there, Bob, on the album yes but from the millisecond the bassist was on camera, not Pino IMO: clip dude good player tho.
