a good shotgun bag should work fine.
My XL2, B2 4 and 5 are all in shotgun bags as they were 1/3 the price of specialised bass ones and seem better built. I'm also looking at a dual to carry the Spirit guitar and a bass.

After 35y the original XL2 one finally fell apart.

Hardshell shotgun cases for them are a great idea too.

There's a lefty for sale locally. Only the one pic and no info. If I were to make a right handed body is there any reason the hardware couldn't be reversed?

I don't think that would be a problem. You'll have to measure the headpiece to see if the gaps for the strings are the same, which I think they are (not an expensive part to replace)… and the saddles seem to be the same so wouldn't have to reverse them.

That is a nice bag! Wow.. What is it? Post a link!

And what is that bass?
It's the [This invalid link has been removed], they go on sale all the time for between $49 and $79 for either the guitar or the bass versions. I have both sizes and I use the guitar version for my headless bases.

Search the hot deals thread in this and sub it, for the sales as they pop-up frequently.

The bass is my own design/build, that I build for myself… if you search for me in the Luthier's corner, you'll see the complete thread on this build and a couple of others that are very similar.

I had not seen the Hot Deals forum previously, so I'm watching both it and then the Roadrunner bag thread. Thanks for the info! I wish I'd had one of these instead, years ago, when my XZ-25 fell out of the Spirit factory bag due to a broken zipper!

Hey Raz! Post details..
Okay, see attached. I installed a Guitar Fuel "Tone Monster" preamp in it to get the output up to where my other basses are at, so it's much hotter now, and replaced the jack with a brand new Switchcraft (in black). I also put on a new set of Status stainless strings on it, but if you like dead-sounding strings I'll be happy to put the old ones back on it and keep these for my next Steinberger. It will come in a vintage Steinberger gig bag.

I hope to have an ad posted later this week along with some updated photos as these don't show the preamp (it has stacked bass/treble knobs). It plays and sounds great.
