well, which is it HT, sealed or ported ?

This cabinet is clearly "for men". They never thought you would actually read the accompanying paperwork.

Are the Hard Trucker cabs actually related to the ones Alembic built for 'the wall'?

Owsley and the Alembic guys designed it and the HT guys are the same guys who actually contructed the wall. They continued building cabs for Garcia, Lesh and Weir after the Wall was retired.

I've heard that they have or had a very large cache of JBL speakers and repair supplies squirreled away somewhere...

I think they referred to closed-back bass speakers to distinguish them from their guitar cab line. All ported speakers are 'closed back', of course.

There was one of these for sale on local CL last week, with some other pics. One REALLY good idea that I gleaned from that was using small, recessed super-magnets to hold the grill frame on...I think that's an inspired idea. Maybe I'm late to the party on this, but securing a grill frame, while making it easy to remove and replace, is a problem I've never truly resolved to my satisfaction...and I've built literally hundreds of speaker enclosures.

Should someone pay $1600 for a shop-built-looking 2-15 cab that doesn't even include the grill frame? Or paint? That's someone else's call...I sure wouldn't. And as much as the Owlsly/Alembic model for sound reproduction aligns with my own concepts, I never cared much for the tie-dyed grill cloth look, even back in the day. Nowadays, I guess it evokes a certain nostalgia, but I still don't like it too much as decoration on what is basically an electromechanical device. And everyone is aware that there was nothing magical about the Alembic speaker systems, right? They were just plain ol' bass reflex boxes made out of 3/4-ply. They were well-made, and made use of the best drivers available at the time, but there was nothing mystical about the concepts expressed in the design. No need to fantasize about a mythical stash of ancient Alembic boxes and drivers...there wouldn't have been a viable motivation to hoard those.

Cool. Thanks for the info. Looks like the guys in Dark Star Orchestra have them too. Theirs are too new to be 'wall' sell offs.
