Sterling by Music Man Ray34CA (2011-2014) vs Ray24CA (2017-present)

I have the latest version of a Ray4, big upgrade from the from the SUB4 it replaced. Mine is actually pretty cool. I prefer it over my muddy MIM Fender p. I have played it at every gig for almost 2 years. The Ray4 lacks in the finish compared to a Ray34 or MIM Fender. I read where the latest ray4 has the same electronics as the Ray24 had. My son has a Ray34, older version with the painted headstock. You have to really calm it down to get a big sound. I want to try some flats on my ray4.

Sure, I can't buy everything I see, but, yes, I definitely hate when it happens!

I had a Ray34ca that I bought back around 2013. I kind of wished I kept it but I was using it. I've owned multiple Sterlings and Music Mans. I did like the Ray34ca neck thou, it was thin like a jazz neck. Currently my main bass is the MM Stingray Special. The neck feels a little slimmer that the regular MM Stingray and it's lighter. I also have a Sterling Ray34 which is nice, but the neck is a bit fatter. Another great bass that I have is the Music Man Sterling bass (not the sterling line) and this has a pickup switch to change from series, parralell or single coil with a thinner neck. A great bass that has lots of sounds. Plus I have a short scale sterling ray and a few others.
