Well seeing as the SUB SB4 has the same innards, I don't see an issue. It ain't that serious! Geez guys! Can we please lighten up!

Hi fellow SBMM SUB owners!
I sold my OLP MM2 get this Walnut Stain Ray4 for $399AUD
That's $414! It costs $279 here. Does this kinda stuff always cost so much more in Australia?
Yup, almost all musical instruments/gear cost much more here....could be the cost of shipping and tax thing. It's a bummer I know. Every time I browse thru GC, MF, SW and other sites I always wish I live there.![]()
Also, there's some yucky looking wood marks on the fretboard (They're less noticeable in that lighting). It's a nice bass, I'm just paranoid that I got a slightly less than awesome one.

Got mine on special, srp: $499 still lucky....most shops here give special price, or they'll just give you a surprise discount when ur about to pay..happened to me a couple of times.Doesn't sound so bad, they're £319 over here, so $514.

The Ray35CA is something we will definitely take a look at.
On the one hand, I don't want you to make a Ray35CA. My Stingray Classic 5 is my single favorite bass of all time, and an import version would simply mean more people playing them and me being less unique. On the other hand, I would buy one INSTANTLY!!!!
Huh. I never noticed them on my Squier, probably because it was rosewood.Tupac,
Those notches on the sides are from how the frets are installed. The slots are cut across the entire width of the fretboard and the fret wire is put in. IIRC that's a very common practice. I know EBMM will use a substance to fill in that area so it's invisible, but on a $249 instrument there's not a lot of room for that luxury.
Here's some NAMM 2013 news!
