My sub just arrived via ups, in a single box with no padding aside from the flimsy white wrap around it. This is not good.

I have received bases like this and have been lucky that there was no damage and hopefully your bass came through OK.

Now I ask how they pack it before it is shipped.
I just bought a Ray35 a few minutes ago...

This is the 3rd bass I've bought from them, and the first that came in a single box with no padding. I hate that I have another 3 hours and 5 minutes before I can go home and test it out.

They must of run out of packing material. Mine at least had some packing in it to pad it.

Must have been shift change for them. I go throught the same thing at work when that happens. No body tells the next guys whats going on! And as just some guy, you did a great job packing!

It was a 5 prior to shipping. Now it's a 4. Pay no mind to that tuning peg rattling around in the bottom of the box!

I saw this on Friday at my local GC so I went back on Sunday to pick up the SB4. Boy am I loving this bass. Once I figure out what the allen wrench size is I'm going to get new strings and do the setup. Easily the best sounding E string of my 4 basses.

On average what do the SUB Ray4 and SUB Ray5 basses weigh? This will determine whether I purchase or not. I did own a white SBMM Ray34 briefly, but it was almost 12 lbs.

I also bought from Musicians friend and it came in a much larger box with packaging and that box inside. Odd nd I wouldn't be happy either.

The SUB Ray4 I tested out was probably right around 9lbs. Didn't seem heavy to me. I'm hoping the one I ordered is not a heavy one.

I have heard that these are lighter than a standard EBMM model. I will be trying an SB4 out tomorrow. I really want a 5, but they haven't gotten any in stock at my local store yet.
