STERLING SUB RAY4 - PASSIVE

Here is my 2021 SUB Ray 4, its pickup has 4 leads, so I wired it to parallel (stock wiring is series), disconneced the preamp, replaced the stock Volume pot (25K) with a 500K pot.
After this simple mod, I think that this bass sound better, and closer to the real Stingray than the original active one.
What is your opinion?

1. You can replace the actual Vol pot with a 500k push-pull pot
"What you gain is you have an "after the preamp" volume and still switch between active and passive. What you lose is that high resistance pot will isolate the active cable driver from the cable. Hence, unless the volume control is full on, you'll find that high frequency cable roll-off that is cured by an active preamp, will once again be there in both active and passive modes."
