Steve Harris

I was sitting back tonight watching my teen play Guitar Hero. She picked an Iron Maiden song. I'd heard it when I was younger, but of course I was only concerned with guitar licks at that time.

Tonight, while the song was playing I found myself listening to the bass. That guy .... that guy's pretty good, ya think?? (yup - that is indeed supposed to be an understatement in case you missed it). Very impressive stuff going on. Killer tone, as well.

Just thought I'd throw that out as I feel I've discovered something new. Well ... new to me anyway! I'll have to re-visit The Trooper and Aces High, etc. Always fun.

Steve plays a P with flats, correct?

its actually odd how good steve harris is, i used to think he was just a hack with a good name till i actually LISTENED to iron maiden then i was blown away, he's a great ****in bass player for his genre, don't know how good he is otherwise

He's not meant for anything other than Iron Maiden. It's HIS band, HIS sound, HIS legacy. Iron Maiden IS Steve Harris.
His creation!

Without Steve, it is not Iron Maiden.

Actually, 'Arry is supposed to be playing on the majority of his daughter, Lauren Harris, album, And that's Pop Rock. He have also played with her live a few times.

I want to hear that album, just to hear how 'Arry copes with different stuff than Maiden. I also suspect he have a different sound, as he use a P/J Bass with her live. (ofcourse it's a 70's P bass with a added J pickup :D):hyper:
